Montagne epiche, laghi mistici e castelli usciti da una leggenda - sì, questo tour per piccoli gruppi è un cracker! Partiamo per un viaggio selvaggio attraverso lo Stirlingshire, dove il potente William Wallace ha lasciato il segno nella storia (pensa a Braveheart, ma reale). Poi, è il momento di perdersi nella bellezza aspra del Loch Lomond e del Parco Nazionale dei Trossachs, dove cime imponenti, laghi scintillanti e natura selvaggia sono solo parte dello scenario quotidiano. E le West Highlands? Magia pura. Pensate a valli nebbiose, antichi castelli e paesaggi così drammatici che meritano una colonna sonora propria. Questa è la Scozia più mozzafiato, quindi preparatevi ad immergervi tutto!

Itinerario
Partiamo da Edimburgo e ci dirigiamo verso il Castello di Doune, altrimenti noto come Castello Leoch nella serie Outlander o Grande Inverno in Game of Thrones. Nella vita reale, il Castello di Doune è una roccaforte militare costruita appositamente nel XIV secolo e un impressionante esempio di architettura scozzese medievale. Ci dirigiamo quindi verso l'affascinante villaggio di Tyndrum, che si trova al margine meridionale di Rannoch Moor.
Ammira le imponenti rovine del castello di Kilchurn. Conosciuto in origine come la roccaforte del Clan Campbell, oggi il castello si trova in pace vicino a Loch Awe ed è il luogo perfetto per fermarsi e scattare qualche foto.
Inveraray è forse meglio conosciuta per Inveraray Jail, un'ex prigione che ora è un'attrazione turistica. Scegli di prendere parte a un tour facoltativo e sfrutta al meglio la tua pausa pranzo visitando l'incantevole villaggio stesso che vanta splendide viste sul Loch Fyne.
Durante il viaggio di ritorno ci fermiamo in uno dei punti panoramici più belli del mondo, soprannominato "Rest and Be Thankful". Questa è la tua ultima possibilità di immergerti nelle montagne prima di tornare in città, quindi assicurati di immergerti tutto.

The tour was very well-organized and our tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. Regrettably, the Doune Castle was closed. However, the guide arranged to visit the Kelpies instead. Nice sculptures. Fantastic Inveraray Castle. The rest and be thankful in Scotland was breathtaking and unforgettable. The last stop - natural features in Luss were beautiful also. Adequate time for exploration.

Our tour guide, Alistair, was a knowledgeable and entertaining storyteller and historian, filling us in on the history of the places and people we were visiting. I also appreciated his eclectic music playlist and skillful navigation of the narrow roads!

We had so much fun on this day trip. The natural scenery was breathtaking and dramatic in autumn, different colors interspersed with forests, lakes and mountains. Our guide Ali P was very friendly and knowledgeable and had a killer of a Scottish-inspired playlist 👌 The castles were like a time capsule and really bring on the atmosphere of a movie /novel, and it was cool we found out about some shows shot in Doune Castle 🍀 All in all, highly recommended and would repeat gladly 🌈

During my weeklong trip to Edinburgh, I wanted a chance to see outside of the city and get a feel for the Highlands. This was the perfect choice! I chose the West Highlands day tour because you got a mix of everything - beautiful Highlands scenery, castles, lochs and small towns/villages. There wasn't too much bus time at once, often 45 min-1 hour before reaching the next destination. Tiegan was a wonderful tour guide and was so knowledgeable and entertaining during the drive. The roads can be a bit windy, so if you tend to get car sick, try to get there early in the morning to get a seat up front on the bus! The only thing I'd change is to have just a bit more time at each tour stop, but overall I really enjoyed it and think its well worth the price!
