Itinerario
Passeremo il confine con la Francia e guideremo nell'entroterra fino a Louhossoa. Sgrancheremo le gambe, cammineremo, visiteremo alcuni angoli interessanti e passeremo davanti a un'incredibile pasticceria artigianale. Ci sono circa 40 minuti di auto fino alla fermata.
Una volta che iniziamo ad avvicinarci alla catena montuosa dei Pirenei, arriviamo a Espelette, uno dei villaggi più belli di Francia. Passeggiare per le vie di questo borgo è un vero piacere. I peperoni pendono dalle sue pittoresche case, creando una cartolina difficile da dimenticare In questo villaggio c'è molto da vedere e da gustare. Adoriamo visitare il venditore locale e provare i salumi locali, il formaggio artigianale dei Pirenei, il loro famoso peperone di Espelette e i suoi derivati, le ciliegie, la birra artigianale e altro ancora. Visiteremo anche la sua strada, l'incredibile chiesa di Saint Etienne, il cimitero e l'architettura straordinaria e pittoresca in generale. Più tardi potremo gustare un pranzo dalla fattoria alla tavola in un ristorante familiare nei dintorni (dove producono i propri salumi, carne e formaggio). Ci sono circa 20 minuti di auto fino alla fermata.
Sare è un bellissimo villaggio al confine con la Spagna. Scopri il passato del villaggio, la storia dei contrabbandieri, altri segreti e qual è il dolce più famoso. Imparerai anche lo sport Jai Alai e la pallamano. Ci sono circa 10 minuti di auto dalla fermata.
Fondata nel XIII secolo, Ainhoa fu costruita per accogliere e aiutare i pellegrini in cammino verso Santiago de Compostela. Questa piccola città ha praticamente una grande strada, con 700 abitanti, e si trova esattamente tra la valle del Nive e il confine con la Navarra, combinando il verde delle sue colline con le facciate bianche e rosse delle sue vecchie case del XVII secolo. Camminiamo per la strada, scattiamo delle foto meravigliose e conosciamo alcuni aneddoti locali. Ci sono circa 20 minuti di auto fino alla fermata.
Non c'è modo migliore per entrare nel confine spagnolo se non passando per il villaggio di Bera, un tipico villaggio della Navarra, con la sua singolare architettura potremo fermarci ad ammirare queste case eleganti e uniche. Da qui alla SS.

Our guide,Sebastián, was excellent. From pick up to drop off he was outstanding in providing help,information, and being all around friendly. He was so enthusiastic, it felt like we were all seeing everything for the first time. The tour took us through an amazing landscape and he provided wonderful detail and delightful surprises. Our stops in each village gave us a chance to explore and learn about the Basque culture and language. Our guide Jon Gurrea was so knowledgeable about the Basque region and language. The tour was a lot of fun and the places we went to were picturesque and interesting. Great balance between the countryside and the coast. All the tastings were delicious.

Jon was a terrific guide. Punctual, knowledgeable and great for conversation. His love for the Basque Country is palpable! We visited some of the most charming French towns in the countryside and tried some of the most unique, delicious French delicacies. I would highly recommend to anyone who would like to explore the wonderful French /basque countryside. The coast is beautiful as well but the countryside has an inexplicable beauty, serenity and well worth the visit.
