Provider did not show up. We drove into Aberdeen from balmoral especially for this tour. Waited for 30 minutes with no show, tried calling providers number but no trained, emailed with no response, Viator unable to reach provider. Wasted day in Aberdeen and 2 hours of travel.
We did the Royal two day tour bus ticket for roughly $100 per person that includes Holyrood House, Edinburgh Castle, and the yacht of the royal family, Britannia. Bundling them saved alot of money. The bus could at times go slow due to traffic which was annoying but the nice thing is the relaxation and seeing the sights. Sit upstairs on the left for the best views. The Britannia was a disappointment as it was pretty darn drab but it was a nice drive to see outside Edinburgh and there is an indoor mall attached that has a couple of good shops and an excellent (must eat at restaurant) called the Blaster Bistro! Eat there and you will not be disappointed! Heads up you can catch the bus at any stop and they will let you get on ahead of buying the ticket, and drop you are Waterloo station where you can then speak to an agent to obtain your ticket to the three attractions, Holyrood, Edinburgh Castle and Britannia. Careful to not lose you paper tickets including the bus receipt as you have to show them and without those receipts you are screwed. We didn't think to take pictures of them in case of loss but suggest you do that. The Red bus line is the best. Get off at the stops for the castle, and Holyrood, for the tours. and the Grass market is a good area for walking around for shops, pubs, and architecture. The Blue bus takes you to Britannia, the indoor mall with the Blaster Bistro.
This 3 tour hop on hop off bus option is great value for money. The bus rides to each of the 3 attractions give you a great tour of the city and spreading them over the 2 days gives you plenty of time to explore. Elaine, who gave me information by email, Dexter, in the Princes St kiosk where we bought our ticket, the drivers we met and finally a lovely lady guide we had on the green bus as the only passengers, were all a credit to the company and their city. I totally recommend this tour option.
Excellent way to see the city and learn its history. We were only in Edinburgh for one day and an overnight so it allowed us to really cover the city conveniently and quickly.
I would have rated 3.5 if it was an option. I wish the information about where to get the bus (Blue) was clearer. As a visitor saying ‘Waverly’ wasn’t enough. Say across from ‘X’ and list a proper address please. I found the drivers very nice & helpful. It served my purpose but was a little disappointing vs other HopOn/Off tours I’ve done.
The best way to visit the best sights. We did the 2 day trip with the Castle, Holyrood Palace, and theRoyal Britania Yacht tours included. There are 3 routes. Easy access and the the narrative is well done.
Unbelievable experience. From the ‘hop-on, hop-off’ buses to the wonderful palace, castle and yacht. It was all a wonderful experience and I’d highly recommend it to everyone!
Absolutely brilliant visit to Edinburgh with your ticket We loved visiting The Royal Yacht Britannia and the bus stopped right outside which was perfect We loved the Castle and Holyrood Palace too. The commentary on the buses were really informative and entertaining It was excellent value for money and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to see the sights in Edinburgh
Good value for travel around Edinburgh. Admission to Edinburgh castle, The Palace of Holyrood and the Royal Yacht included. Informative, helpful drivers. Great advice from gentleman who we picked pass up from.
Great routes. Punctual. Kind employees. Good stops to enjoy the city and touristic points. Good audio guides.
