We had a wonderful experience with much of the credit going to our fabulous driver Rodney. He personalised our trip to suit us, was very knowledgeable and kept us safe. The Andes and the Amazon were so exciting… the only thing that could improve was the hotel accommodation in Baños. It really was substandard, everything else was wonderful.
Dear debchap, Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience with us. We’re proud to have him on our team, and it’s great to know he made your journey more personalized, informative, and safe. We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the hotel in Baños. We’re sorry that it did not meet your expectations, and we will review this with our team to ensure we continue improving the quality of our accommodations. It was a pleasure organizing your trip, and we hope to welcome you back to Ecuador in the future for another unforgettable experience. Warm regards, Meloni Live Ecuador Travel Group
Our experience on this trip was amazing. Our guide Rodney has to be Ecuador‘s best guide (and we have experienced many) Not only did he take the time to explain in great detail all of the questions we had asked he did so with a lovely sense of humour good composure, great understanding of his culture and people and an excellent grasp of English. If you can, please request him for your tours. His knowledge of the landscape has to be second to none. Our trip started in Quito and took us to Cotopaxi where it was eye dropping-beautiful. We also took in the Amazon jungle, Banōs and had to be seen to be believed. Rodney took the time and stopped the car on a number of occasions to take some great photos and explain the culinary delights of what Ecuador has to offer. In one unsuspecting moment he stopped the car, got out and peeled off a pink looking banana - only to explain that it wasn’t edible at all and funnily enough smelled like a cucumber. My only regret was not staying longer in Baños and the Amazon, a 5 day tour would have been perfect. If you consider this tour request for additional night in Banos and the Amazon.
Dear Guest Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a wonderful and detailed review 🙏 We’re truly happy to hear that your experience exploring Ecuador—from Quito, Cotopaxi, Baños, and the Amazon—was so memorable. Your kind words about Rodney mean a lot to us. He is indeed an exceptional guide, and we’re proud to have him as part of our team. His passion for Ecuador, deep knowledge of the landscapes and culture, sense of humor, and dedication to creating meaningful moments (including those spontaneous photo stops and fun surprises 😊) are exactly what we strive to offer every traveler. We also appreciate your valuable suggestion about extending the itinerary. You’re absolutely right—adding extra nights in Baños and the Amazon allows for a more relaxed pace and deeper connection with these incredible destinations. Your feedback helps us continue improving and designing even better experiences for future guests. Thank you again for choosing Ecuador and traveling with us. We truly hope to welcome you back for a longer adventure next time 🌿✨ Warm regards, Suchipakari Lodge Team

I was a bit apprehensive about the trip to Amazon however the way entire experience turned out left me and my partner very happy. Our guide throughout the trip was Rodney and he was fantastic. He had such a good knowldge of Ecuador which amazed us throughout and he was very courteous and helpful thorughout the trip. Our Amazon trip guide was Mr. Pajaro and he was superb, extremely knowldgeable about the Amazon forest, birds and mammals and he was able to find the birds and animals deep into the trees and water and would point them to us. Our trip was totally fun, Rodney was very flexible and his main goal was to keep us happy. He would keep us informed of all the steps in the trip and took care of everything. I would highly recommend this experience to everyone.

Our tour guide was named Javier, amazing guy. He was professional but friendly, and was incredibly knowledgeable about everything. He loves to talk and is very caring about nature. He even helped me and my wife capture pictures and videos of our trip. He also made additional stops along the way for things he thought we may like. He’s also very well known in the community and has many friends everywhere he goes. If you’re paired with Javier be prepared for a great time. Brian was our other tour guide at the Amazon Lodge. He was also super knowledgeable and friendly. He shared with us his culture and language and how people live in the Amazon. My wife and I were very moved by this last part of the adventure, recommend to Live Ecuador to include an option to stay a night with the indigenous people for a night to give people the opportunity to experience the culture on a deeper level. 100% recommend this trip to anyone visiting Ecuador for the first time or coming back for a second or even third time. My wife and I favorite part was definitely the Amazon. We loved the views of Cotopaxi and had a great time at the hot springs in Baños. My wife and I came to Ecuador to celebrate our first year anniversary and we’re both blown away by the experience.
Dear Alex, Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful and detailed review! It’s great to hear that both Javier and Brian made your journey so special, they are indeed passionate guides who love what they do, and we’ll make sure to share your kind words with them. We also really appreciate your thoughtful suggestion about including an overnight stay with an indigenous community. It’s a fantastic idea that aligns perfectly with our mission to create authentic and meaningful cultural experiences, and we’ll be sure to explore ways to make that possible for future travelers. Thank you again for recommending Live Ecuador to other travelers. We hope to welcome you back one day for another unforgettable journey!
This tour was a stand-out experience and definitely worth booking. We explored Cotopaxi Volcano National Park and stayed in the lovely town of Banos with its own waterfall and hot spring baths. Visited Quilotoa Lagoon and the giant waterfall. Fabulous tour with Christian, an excellent guide!
