We were able to cover a lot of ground and see much of the Highlands on this tour. The primary negative was that our guide could not be heard while he was narrating. Over the course of the first two days, multiple people on the tour told him that no one could hear him while he was speaking and driving. The guide tried turning up his microphone and he could be heard for a couple of minutes, but then his voice just trailed off and no one could hear him again. After multiple requests over the course of the first 2 days, all of us just gave up on hearing any narration and worked to enjoy the view and the stops. Our group did not get a guided tour. We felt like we had A bus transport - NOT a guided tour. Another challenge was where we were left for our overnight accommodations. There were 27 passengers on our tour. We were all left to sleep in various spots throughout Inverness. Some were left in the heart of the city with dining and shopping on the street. Our B&B, on the other hand, was a 20 minute walk to get food or shopping. We were disappointed to be left so far out and grateful that it did not rain while we were there. I would say there was a great disparity in the quality of lodging between the guests in our group. I would not recommend this tour company to future travelers. There looked to be many tour companies at the stops we made so it would not be difficult to find a different company who provided better guiding and better accommodations.
Excellent 3day trip. Iain our driver/tour guide was excellent.. very knowledgeable about the areas we visited, couldn’t do enough for us and took us to a few extra viewing places for the best photo opportunities, very helpful in choosing a restaurant in area we were visiting and an excellent driver!
Hi, It’s fantastic to hear you had such an enjoyable 3-day trip with Iain! It sounds like he went above and beyond, from sharing his knowledge of the places you visited to finding those extra scenic stops for the best photo opportunities. We're also glad his local recommendations helped you make the most of your evenings, and we'll be sure to pass on your kind words about his driving and hospitality. Thanks for travelling with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another Highland adventure in the future! Kind regards, Siobhan Highland Experience Tours
Our guide Scott, was fabulous!! He was super funny,, entertaining, full of stories and information, all with good narratives. The drive was smooth, relaxing, and everything was timely and on time. . Scott played relevant and soft Scottish music at all the right times. The countryside was phenomenally gorgeous and my head is spinning with all we saw and learned! Recommend this most highly! Ask for Acott to be your guide!
We had a great trip to the highlands and Isle of Skye. Hugh was a great guide. Das joke funny, engaging, and knowledgeable, and a great piper! I would highly recommend this tour with Hugh leading the tour - he gave a lot of himself for our enjoyment and added experience. The B&B was also vey good in Inverness.
80% of the trip was 34 of us passengers sitting on a cramped noisy bus with very poor sound system making it really difficult to understand the guide’s Scottish accent (English is our mother tongue). Many sites were only seen in the distance. On the other hand - good driving skills. Many bathroom breaks. Beautiful scenery and we did see a lot of the highlands. Enjoyed our evening walks in Inverness and the B&B accommodations were lovely.
Hi there, Thank you for your review! We're glad you got to experience the beauty of the Highlands, great driving, and lovely B&B stays in Inverness. However, we are very sorry that the bus ride felt cramped and that the sound system made it difficult to hear our guide. Clear commentary and passenger comfort are incredibly important to us, so we are addressing these audio and vehicle issues with our team right away. We appreciate your honest feedback! Kind regards, Highland Experience Tours
It was a wonderful tour. Great sights. Off the bus frequently for sights, activities and quick rest stop. Very knowledgeable guide and very accommodating. Worth the three days and the cost. Highly recommend. Doogie are guide was excellent.
Craig was an excellent tour guide on this 3-day tour! He shared many historical facts and even some personal stories to keep the tour group engaged; he answered a multitude of questions too. Each of the three days were full, but allowed plenty of time for exploration of stops at villages & historical sights. We stayed at the same bed & breakfast for the two nights of the tour, allowing us to get to know the host too. Highly recommend this tour! Rather than driving, it was nice to enjoy the scenery along the way too.
We had an great trip and saw much of the Highlands that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. The views everywhere were remarkable.
Hi Christine! We're so pleased you enjoyed your 3-day trip and got to take in the remarkable Highland scenery. We strive to showcase the best of the area to our guests. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we hope to welcome you again soon. Best wishes, Wayne Highland Experience Tours
Stuart was a great tour guide with incredible knowledge of the history of Scotland interspersed with information about the current life and culture of Scotland. He took as to all the sites listed as well as a few extras. The scenery was beautiful and we were fortunate to have nice weather with less rain but the weather changes all day long so having good rain gear that dries quickly is a must. Staying in Inverness for two nights was lovely as it is a beautiful city with a lively music scene. The B&B we stayed was close to town and had wonderful accommodations and a delicious breakfast. There are many breaks throughout the day to get off the bus and stretch, use the facilities and take lovely pictures. My only recommendation would be to give the passengers an updated daily itinerary with planned sites and schedule.
We had such a fun time! our driver/tour guide Craig was really fun & super informative & you could tell he really loves talking about his country. we enjoyed all the dad jokes. We had a pretty small group on our bus - 21 people. and it was cool to see where everyone else was from. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Scotland! it was so nice to just sit back and enjoy the ride & the scenery. You really get to see a lot! we enjoyed learning about all the history as well.
Hi Marley, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review! We're so pleased you enjoyed your day with Craig. He has a real talent for combining Scotland's history, culture, and landscapes with plenty of humour, so we're delighted to hear his stories and dad jokes helped make the tour memorable. It's also wonderful to hear that you enjoyed sharing the experience with a smaller group and meeting fellow travellers from all over the world. Thank you for recommending us to future visitors, and we hope to see you again on another Highland adventure soon! Kind regards, Siobhan Highland Experience Tours
