Visite à pied de Sete Cidades
Description
L'aventure commence à Ponta Delgada, où nous partons vers Pico do Carvão. Ce sentier d'environ 5 km commence à l'entrée de Mata do Canário. Il relie deux sections de sentiers préexistants et vous permet de découvrir les différents lacs de la partie occidentale de l'île de São Miguel. Dans la première partie de la promenade, vous pourrez voir le Muro das Nove Janelas, un ancien aqueduc qui amenait l’eau à Ponta Delgada. Après une ascension dans une zone où le terrain est plus irrégulier, nous pouvons observer une grande partie de la côte ouest de l'île, ainsi que le cratère en effondrement de Sete Cidades. De cet endroit, par beau temps, on peut voir une grande partie de l’île de São Miguel. Au retour à Ponta Delgada, il est possible de s’arrêter au point de vue de Vista do Rei, où vous trouverez un paysage magnifique, de la Lagoa das Sete Cidades. Sur le chemin du retour, nous trouvons des champs verts jusqu'à l'entrée de Ponta Delgada.

Wonderful walk with amazing views. The guide was perfect
We had an amazing time with Luis and Iñez. The hiking trail was easy to follow and not too difficult. The Serra devassa trail is a really beautiful trail, I loved reaching the peaks of the hills and also the enchanting forest walk. Then they took us to see the stunning blue and green lagoons of Sete Cidades and Iñez told us a special story about it's mythical origins.
Hiking the Sete Cidades was amazing - even if it is raining. We couldn’t see the views because it was so wet but the adventure itself was fun. Gonçalo was our guide and he was very informative about all the plants, the Azorean culture as well as an expert hiker. Thank you!!!
From the hotel with a van picked up by Pedro. After a ride where we recognized several places / spots from other trips we arrived at the parking lot. Since the weather was changing, dense clouds, mist, drizzle, our guide decided to do a modified tour. Lots of nature and crater lakes seen; good story from our guide
Breathtaking scenery along the way as we made our way to the peak of the mountain, and reaching the peak was definitely the highlight of the hike! Lovely international group of fellow walkers also made for an enjoyable time. Perfect weather too!

Great hiking trail passing by many lakes and with great view. We were lucky that the visibility was good so we could enjoy not only the hiking but also the amazing view. Our guide Ugo was very nice and explained a lot of things..
