Annnie was a fantastic tour guide. She was patient with everyone on the bikes, and very helpful. She was very insightful about the palace, the grounds, and the history. Thank you!!
This was amazing! Jen was fantastic. Her storytelling really brought the history to life and our kids (13, 11, 8 & 3) loved it. The bikes were easy to ride and our 3 yr old was on a tricycle pulled by another bike.
This tour was so much fun! Our favorite part was seeing Marie Antoinettes Hamlet!! Dave was a great tour guide and made the tour fun and interesting! If we had more time, I would have done another bike tour with this company!
This tour was a highlight of our visit to Paris and so glad we took the train to Versailles. Our guide, Andrea, was funny, informative and kept us safe and moving through the fascinating village and hamlet. Seeing the village, gardens and surrounding areas of Versailles would have been impossible if not on bike and we are so glad we chose this way to see it. We had enough time a the end of the bike tour to walk through Versailles. Andrea walked us to front of line, so very little waiting which was welcome in the heat. We thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!
Fun time! Great guide JF. Good with people. Saw all i expected to see. That's all I have to write for now.
The 4 hr bike tour around Versailles gardens and concluding at the palace itself was wonderful! Annie was our guide and she was so entertaining and knowledgeable - biking was easy and she made sure to stop in all the shady spots for the historical context, as it was a very hot day. At the end of the biking portion, she gave us options for viewing Versailles itself, depending on how long we wanted to explore the palace. All in all, c’est magnifique!
Great Tour!! You have to do the Marie Antionette hamlet it’s surreal. Our guide Jen was fantastic, she peppered the tour with just the right amount of historic fact, and gossip (some a bit gruesome, but those were the times). I can’t recommend this Fat Tire Tours enough and if you get a chance to go with Jen, all the better.
Our cycle tour through the gardens of Palace of Versailles was one of the highlights of our trip to France. OJ was a knowledgeable, engaging, and entertaining guide who brought the history of Versailles to life. His stories about Louis XIV, his extravagant tastes, and his desire to create a palace unlike any other were fascinating and kept everyone in the group interested and entertained. We loved his humour. The bikes were excellent—comfortable seats, smooth gears, and perfect for exploring the extensive gardens and grounds. Cycling through the beautiful surroundings was such an enjoyable way to experience Versailles. The tour also included entry into the Palace of Versailles itself, and stepping inside was simply incredible. The sheer opulence is a sensory overload in the best possible way. Every room seemed more magnificent than the last. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Versailles. It was the perfect combination of history, beautiful scenery, and fun, made even better by OJ's enthusiasm and storytelling. An unforgettable experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My daughter and I had an incredible time on the half-day bike tour of Versailles—it was truly one of the highlights of our trip! Our guide, Oğulcan ("OJ"), was fantastic. He shared so many interesting and fun facts throughout the tour and kept the energy upbeat, even in the extreme heat. He was incredibly thoughtful, making sure everyone knew where to refill water, keeping us in the shade whenever possible, and regularly checking in to see if anyone needed a break. I hadn't ridden a bike in quite a while, but OJ made me feel completely at ease. His instructions were clear, easy to follow, and he made both my daughter and me feel very safe throughout the ride. His kindness, patience, and positive attitude really made the experience special. He also shared great recommendations for places to visit in Paris, which was an added bonus. I'm so glad my daughter and I decided to do this tour—it was a wonderful way to experience Versailles, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, memorable, and well-organized adventure.
Vlad was a great, entertaining tour guide. Seeing Marie Antoinette’s hamlet was definitely a highlight. The grounds are beautiful. Would not recommend on a very hot day. We chose a bike tour because my daughter has limited walking mobility and this was a LOT more walking than I expected from a “bike tour.” (It took her a full day to recover and she also skipped walking through the chateau (palace), which is at the end and a ton more walking after the hamlet. If you’re up for a lot of walking (plus some easy biking), this is a fabulous option.
Thank you for sharing such a detailed and honest review! We're so glad Vlad made the tour entertaining and that Marie Antoinette's Hamlet was a highlight — it truly is a special part of the grounds. We really appreciate you flagging the walking aspect. You're right that there is more walking involved than guests sometimes expect, and your feedback is a valuable reminder for us to make that clearer upfront so families with mobility considerations can plan accordingly. We hope your daughter has fully recovered and that you both have wonderful memories of the day despite the challenge!
