Guide was excellent very knowledgeable and easy to understand
Amazing experience everlasting memories. Big thanks to the tour guide Clotilde, she was absolutely amazing and the way she took care of the entire group and the explanation of the palace in detail was mind blowing.
We had a great tour with Chloe who took lots of pictures of us and gave us a very detailed walk through of the palace. We also waited in no lines which was amazing and had a very smooth meetup process!
2 adults and a 16 old - all thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the guide was knowledgeable, friendly, kept the group together and found us great spots within each of the rooms to take photos and stay as cool as possible. If the weathers hot take water and a fan as it can get warm in the crowded rooms, we didn’t pay to go into the gardens as we went to a fireworks event in the evening, I’d definitely recommend seeing them as they’re as magnificent as the palace. We couldn’t fault our experience, loved it!
The two-hour tour of the Palace of Versailles flew by! Livia guided us through the palace halls with a light touch and a sense of humor. Her English is impeccable, and she possesses a natural ease that allows for witty, elegant remarks. Her diction is perfect, making everything she says crystal clear. Livia has a unique personal style of sharing history. It felt as though historical figures were accompanying us through those spaces, and we could see how the Sun King stamped his personal brand across the chambers. We viewed the public morning ritual through the monarch's eyes and felt the looming threats from other nobles and the fierce power struggles. The myriad paintings, architectural features, and artworks gained logic and structure thanks to our guide’s graceful and knowledgeable commentary. She was an exceptional teacher—the kind who skillfully and effortlessly imprints lasting ideas in the minds of lifelong learners, all while conveying information with vigor and enthusiasm! Louis XIV built it, Louis XV enjoyed it, and Louis XVI paid for it. Want to know why? Book a guided tour with Livia. Selecting a good guide is no easy task. The person needs to possess knowledge and be able to convey it effectively. Beyond teaching ability, there is the language issue. Clients come from all corners of the globe, making language a significant barrier. How can you tell if the guide has truly mastered it? A French accent when speaking English might not sound very pronounced to a native French speaker, yet I have personally struggled to understand such English—to the point of missing a third of what was said. Native-speaker evaluators might be the solution. Knowledge, teaching skills, language proficiency, and the icing on the cake: personality. In Livia, you at GetYourGuide have found a real gem—congratulations!
The palace is beautiful but no air conditioning. It was 101 degrees when we visited. Had to cut our visit short due to the crowds. The guide was extremely knowledgeable.
Mat was an amazing tour guide! He was friendly, knowledgeable, interesting, and a good speaker. The tour was well paced.
Nils was funny and educating. It was very hot, bring lots of water. It is a long walk on cobblestone until you reach the palace. Be careful with older folks
Very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Beautiful palace. Exactly what we were looking for. Glad we could skip the line on such a warm day!
Well informed tour guide who is of part British and French ancestry. Who knew history and explained it in such an interesting and inspirational way never before experienced. Brought the statues to life.
