Do not use, we communicated through the whole process of our day with no response. Viator rep also tried to contact them with no response. Viator handled it very well and got us a refund.

Our driver, Pedro, picked us up as scheduled and he proceeded to take us all around the island of Cozumel. He was extremely knowledgeable and enjoyed everything about the trip.

Our Tour guide Goku was great and knowledgeable about the island. He communicated with us about pick up the day before to confirm and sent a picture so we would know what he looked like and met us on time. That was very reassuring. Took us where we wanted to go plus a few places that he knew which weren't bad. Felt like we drive every road on the island and really got to see alot. Just note there is an extra charge for the Mayan Ruins that we thought were included with the tour. Outside of that everything was great.

Pedro made our day in Cozumel unforgettable. He took us beyond the typical tourist attractions and showed us local spots that gave us a real feel for the island. The highlight was an amazing cenote visit that we would have never discovered on our own. Pedro was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and always focused on making sure we had a great experience. Very accommodating. Were able to add a third vehicle at the last minute for the 5 family members who decided to join. The stop at the souvenir shop, monuments, and black coral demonstration were all fun and kept everyone's interest. The stop for the tequila "experience" was fun too, kids got to hold an iguana and macaw. The tequila making part was pointing at pictures and sampling their tequila. Overall not bad, but dont expect to see it being made. Next was lunch. This is where it turned for us. We got there and were told they had no meat but fish and shrimp, with 7 kids, it was a great disappointment, we were not given a real choice of where to eat. Just pulled in and said here is lunch. On top, prices are not well presented and paid way more than should have. Goku was a great driver and has clearly been at this a long time. In the end, we had a decent time, spent more than would have on an excursion, but had fun as a whole family.

The tour was good. The tour guide Claudio took us to out of the way places that we normally wouldn’t see, went to a place where a black coral operator worked and looked at his beautiful creations. The organic tequila farm and we drove around the island.

Highly recommend the private tour. Miguel arrived a few minutes before our meeting time. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and answered all of our questions. He had a few planned stops, but accommodated our tour by adding additional requested stops and skipped ones that we chose not to visit. The tour was great!

Claudio had his own agenda. We went to out-of-the way places (stores) run by his friends where he got a kick-back by bringing us there. Either money or food. We saw slum areas and poverty everywhere we went. The car windows were dirty and not good to take photos. Claudio talked fast and was hard to hear from the back seat. We didn't see much that we liked and regretted our choice. This tour convinced us that we have no desire to see any more of Cozumel or Mexico. We are senior citizens who wanted a ride to see the best parts of the area which did not happen. Like I said, we saw all the poverty areas. We did stop at two free beaches, but had no desire to swim as we weren't prepared with suits and towels. Claudio says he works part time for Viator and has his own tour company. Maybe? We do not drink alcohol as we are prohibited by our medication. He took us to a nice informational stop to learn of Tequila distillation. The bottles started at $90.00 for a tequila mix. We are not drinkers. I am sure it was disappointing when we bought nothing. I think we would have been happier taking a taxi at the port, or grabbing an excursion as we left the ship. There were many venders right there. Beware of drivers who know this is your first trip to Cozumel. You need to have a prepared list of places you want to see and just go to those places.

​If you're looking for the real Cozumel, this is it. We loved the freedom of the tour and the "backcountry" feel of the eastern coast. The vehicles were in great shape, and the route was perfectly planned to show us the contrast between the turquoise waters and the jungle side. It’s the best value for your money if you want to see the whole island in one day.
