A nice room and our car was parked near our room so we could bring our luggage inside along our terrace (ground floor). We were able to put our bikes in a locked garage at night. The food is delicious. We cycled to Cochem (11km) and took the cable car and drank something on top of the terrace in a lovely sun, went shopping, visited the church, took the steps to the cemetery: from there you have an unobstructed view of the castle (photos!!!) walked over the bridge and visited the Anderkerk (Romanesque). By car we drove to the longest suspension bridge in Europe (300m long and 100m above the valley) and walked there and back! Very nice!! Visited another monastery and then a long walk to Eltz burg: exhausting but well worth it.
This tour is fantastic and highly recommended! Florian is an outstanding guide who responds very well to customer requests and has an exceptionally broad knowledge of each and every dreamlike beautiful destination of this day tour. So there are breathtaking views of the Moselle valley, which is in no way inferior to the Rhine valley, the castle Eltz is incredibly impressive and the wine tasting is very well selected. Florian's company as a guide is simply desirable. It feels like traveling with a friend.
Normally I don't write reviews but for Flo I have to make an exception. We didn't book the tour on this platform it was a personal recommendation and turned out to be an absolutely stunning trip. So I had to leave my impression somewhere for others to read, especially after seeing that this tour didn't have a single review yet. At least none that shows for me. Flo is just amazing with his cheerfulness and attitude. I was a bit down that day but after he picked us up with his smile everything changed quite fast and it turned into one of the best days of our stay. On the way to the castle Eltz he explained a lot about the history and culture of that area in Germany. It takes a little to get there so we had some time to talk. He also has quite some fun facts up his sleeves that I bet you would not get told by many. The views are also breath taking at times. I mean the Rhine river is already lovely to see how it carves its way through the Hunsruck between Mainz and Koblenz. Since I'm a geologist by trade I started asking some questions about the area and how it came to be. I didn't expect to get detailed answers since this usually a very niche topic for such a tour. But even on that Flo was able to give me a broad picture. When we arrived at the castle I wasn't prepared for that many visitors. But once we actually laid eyes on it, coming around a narrow bend, it all made sense. This really is one of the cutest castles I've seen in my life so far. Absolutely worth the waiting time at the entrance. And the views just kept coming. The Moselle valley is again a step up from the Rhine. At least in my opinion. Such lovely winding bends with vineyards all over. The romantic villages along the way. And it all was topped of with a superb wine tasting before the day already ended way too fast. I can nothing but recommend this trip and Flo as a guide. Thank you! This day will be remembered!
