Thomas was a great guide. He was also our guide the previous day on the Rothenberg tour. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
This day trip was definitely worth it! Our guide Thomas was very knowledgeable and funny. We took a passenger van from Frankfurt (near the main train station) to Heidelberg for the day. It was about a 1 hour trip each way. It was a smaller tour size of 7, which was really nice. Thomas offered to take your picture at many different times during the trip, which as a solo traveler was appreciated. After visiting the castle as a group, you will get some time to explore the old town on your own and shop, get food, or wander. You return to Frankfurt around 3pm. Definitely worth the trip!
The pick-up and drop-off location was not a good place to meet. There were many homeless people who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, sleeping, loitering, and the area was very dirty just to get to the pick-up point. Our guide was very nice but soft-spoken, and it was difficult to hear him. Most of the time, we couldn't understand what he was saying. Other than that, Heidelberg and the castle were wonderful to visit, and we're glad we went. Plus, The van/coach was comfortable and air conditioned, a nice bonus to see a beautiful Castle.
A lovely day out exploring this beautiful castle and town. Our guide, Peter was brilliant and had such deep knowledge.
We saw a lot with our great guide George. He knew the details of history and architecture. He was one of the best!
Just go yourself! Easy train ride, tour is over priced. Tour guide was nice and friendly. But didn't get much history out of the tour.
Heidelberg Castle and the quaint old town is well worth a visit. It was an easy bus ride from Frankfurt and Willy our guide was very entertaining and informative. But the tour was just too short. We rushed through the castle and then had only an hour to explore the town. A full day tour would be much better.
I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this experience. The tour guide was super informative and comical. He kept us informed and entertained. The drive to Heidelberg went fairly quickly and the castle itself was absolutely beautiful. The city of Heidelberg was absolutely breathtaking - I highly recommend walking across the old bridge. I also appreciated having a little bit of free time to wander around before heading back to Frankfurt, but not so much that the afternoon dragged on as I have felt on some day trips. I had just enough time to sit in the old town Square and have a nice lunch while people watching. It was just a beautiful way to spend my Sunday. I highly recommend.!
The actual experience exceeded expectations. Sites were amazing, guide gave abundance of information with humor. Delightful.
This trip was fun. It doesnt leave a lot of time at each spot. Would loved to have spent more time for shopping and lunch. The guide was funny and friendly. Everyone was smiling and thats a key. Overall, i would recommend if you just want to see some things and dont want to worry about coordinating on your own. The town was the best part of the trip though.
