Le palais Archiginnasio est l'un des bâtiments les plus importants de Bologne. Située au cœur de son centre historique, elle accueille la Bibliothèque municipale depuis 1838. Le palais a été construit par le cardinal Borromée entre 1562 et 1563 sur la base d'un projet de l'architecte Antonio Morandi, connu sous le nom de Terribilia comme siège de l'université.
Vous visiterez la célèbre salle anatomique du palais Archiginnasio où vous pourrez rester 10 minutes en écoutant l'histoire du guide. La salle, appelée Théâtre en raison de sa forme caractéristique en amphithéâtre, a été conçue en 1637 pour les cours d'anatomie par l'architecte bolonais Antonio Paolucci dit Levanti, élève des Carrache.
Au premier étage du bâtiment se trouvent la bibliothèque et les salles historiques, généralement fermées sans visite guidée. Vous pourrez admirer la salle

This tour was quite good. It is a fascinating place where the foundations of modern academia started. The tour guide did a good job of showing us the different aspects of the facility and what was their meaning. The anatomy room where the bodies were dissected is an absolute mind blowing place to behold. It is particularly fascinating for somebody like me who is in the field of medicine. There was really no downside to this. I do believe that if you’re in Bologna, it is a must do.
