Pike Place 90 - Visite Dégustation Minute

Description

We had a wonderful time and this tour really helped with key spots and info we needed.
Tour guide Woody was fantastic! The city is beautiful and the food here is delicious! It’s a great tour for traveling solo too!
Our guide, Ivy was awesome. So knowledgeable about the market. Very personal. Highly recommend the tour. My 14 yr old grandson loved it.
Guide:Will. A group of three of us were really excited to book a tasting tour of Pike Place because we LOVE food, and we wanted to try things we would have not known about. When we booked, we were under the impression that we would have 7 tastings, as indicated in the confirmation however, upon completing of the tour we realized it was a tad deceptive and we don’t feel as though we got a our money’s worth. A little bit of history was provided, but not much. Also, we think it would be a good idea for the guide to have had a fanny pack with napkins/wet wipes. This is where he led us to, again, we were a group of three: 1. Freya Bakery (Pike Place) Here we had an elevated hot chocolate and a chocolate chip cookie, and it was really good. We were impressed and really thought we’d have an amazing rest of the tour. We imagine the cost was around $8 2. Pufftown Bakehouse (Pike Place) our guide picked up a croquette, and it was delicious. Croquetta cost $10.00 (split 4 ways, guide had a piece) 3. Lands of Origin (Pike Place) our guide picked up a Moroccan lamb crispy bun with green sauce, and this was also delicious. The roll/bun was $10 (2 balls split in half, guide had a piece) 4. Woodring Preserves, this was a jam/jelly place (no money spent here as they offer FREE samples) 5. City Fish (Pike Place) here, they give FREE fish samples so there was no cost to our guide 6. Fresh Fruit, our guide left us at the jelly place and returned with a mango, peach, and an orange (guide also had fruit) 7. Truffle Queen (Pike Place) sampled some truffle oil but they give samples for free The overall expense of the items we shared FOUR ways was no more than $40 or so, and we paid $150 for the tour. At the end, we felt inclined to tip because a comment was made about the company taking the money so we essentially paid $140 to spend 2hours to walk around Pike Place with a nice guy ($180 (with tip) - $40ish) On a positive note, our guide, Will, was nice, and personable but he also got distracted with people he knew in the market and went over our time by 30 mins. He was also able to give us some restaurant recommendations that we did enjoy later in our trip. IF you and your friends are interested in trying food (and are not individually picky and don’t have allergies or food restrictions), my friends and I recommend the following: • The Crumpet Shop—share a crumpet • Ghost Alley Coffee –share a mystery latté • Pufftown Bakehouse00Sare a croquette • Lands of Origin—lamp ball • Mee Sum Pastry- share a red bean sesame ball • Beechers’ Handmade Cheese-share a small mac & cheese • Emmett Watson’s Oyster Bar--$2 oyster specials
Will is a great and fun tour guide. He knowledgeable about the history of the Pike Place Market and Seattle’s history. Had a great time!
We stopped at a few places and it seemed somewhat unorganized/unplanned. Had to probe the guide for information about pike and the locations we visited. Was expecting more of a history and reason why we stopped at certain spots. Seemed like he just popped in on local friends he knew who worked at pike. Not a good use of my time.
The tour started at 9am which is a good time to go because the market is just starting to open up so it’s not too busy. The food was a perfect amount. Not too much that you are full but enough variety and enough bites to make sure you are satisfied. Highly recommended
This was a great experience. It was a very small group of us so Will, our guide, was able to really tailor the tour to each of us. Lots of history, hidden gems, and laughs throughout.
Good food, great guide (Ivy). There are stairs that would be challenging for anyone with mobility issues.
Will was an AMAZING tour guide. He went out of his way to let us try our favorite foods within the Pikes place market and more. Super fun to spend the afternoon with and gave amazing recommendations outside the market for the rest of our stay in Seattle. Your so lucky if you get to have him as yours!
