We took this class on our anniversary and absolutely loved it! The food was amazing and it was so interesting to learn about the history associated with it!

Delightful and Delicious
This was a delightful and delicious experience. Our teacher Harriet made it a five star experience.

Worth every second.
The demonstration was excellent. Chef Tom gave a nice history of the dishes he demonstrated as well as a thorough explanation of the ingredients and process to prepare them. Sampling the completed dishes was a highlight. Friendly staff in the store as well.

A culinary delight you don't want to miss.
As a tour manager, I brought 40 people to the New Orleans School of Cooking for a demo and then dinner. What a great experience for everyone. The food was so good. We had Chef Michael DeVidts prepare our meal. He was truly outstanding. If you are visiting New Orleans, stop by and enjoy a wonderful culinary experienxe.

Not much cooking, lot of talk, mediocre lunch
It was not what I expected. It is not a cooking class or emphasis on food, this a New Orleans history lesson. The chef is an entertainer and she speaks long and well. The cooking was minimal and the food was mediocre at best. Don't believe for a minute the sample menu included in the description. We had a thin gumbo with a slice or two of sausage and some diced chicken, and some inferior jambalaya, a rice dish with some diced chicken all mostly prepared beforehand. Desert was pralines, ok I guess. That's it!

Hi Elizabeth, We are so sorry that our demonstration class did not live up to your expectations. We do not give our chefs scripts, so everyone has their own way of sharing their New Orleans Story, but we always want the fun, food, and folklore of New Orleans to be at the heart of it. Next time, trying the hands-on cooking class might be a better option for you! That is a class where you're actually preparing the meal as opposed to watching it.

The Chef was wonderful humorous, and answered all our questions. The food tasted wonderful and we were able to even have seconds.
