This morning, Giancarlo and Antonio picked us up at 8:30 very close to where we were staying to start a full day of dreaming and drooling at three supercar museums. Ducati was closed, but we spied the factory as we drove by. After driving through the Bologna countryside, our first stop was at Lamborghini. We walked around both a classic and a more modern showroom, then a small bus picked up the group to go across to tour the factory. Next, we went to the Ferrari museum which displayed lots of engine parts, different era cars, and lots of F1 cars and memorabilia. After a fabulous lunch of a fried bread starter with ham, then three different pastas, Lambrusco, and espresso, we were back on the road headed to Pagani. Here, we watched a historical video and walked through a car exhibition. A tour guide then led us through the working factory where no phones or sunglasses were allowed. Back in the van at the end is the day, we headed back to the city center. It was a full, wonderful day, and Giancarlo made everything so convenient and comfortable in a luxury van! Highly recommend Suggestions: Bring a bottle of water.
A trip to Bologna had to include a tour around the supercar centre of Europe for myself and my son (an engineering intern for BMW so coming with a knowledge of cars and car plants). We had booked via an online site that featured the lunch heavily but realised that a direct booking online with Factory Motor Tour was the same tour and same lunch but for a better price, thanks to email communication with Giancarlo. Led by Giancarlo and assisted by driver Antonio, we were guided and chauffeured between the three sites in comfort. The Ferrari museum was impressive with a good history of the cars but felt slightly corporate, although we got lots of photos beside cars we would ordinarily only see on a screen. Lamborghini included a factory tour with a great guide and a close view of practically every stage of the construction of the Urus model. The museum allowed even closer inspections than Ferrari of some of the most spectacular cars in the world. Although there were fewer cars than at Ferrari, we took many more photos! After a great pasta lunch with a wonderful local red Lambrusco wine at Ca' Bianca, we finished the day with the highlight. My car expert son knew a lot about Pagani but neither of us had seen one in real life. The factory tour was in a building that resembled an Italian piazza in style, which was impressive enough. The walk through, again very professionally done, showed the steps for making a car which is customised by the client down to the finest detail and perfected at each stage of what is not a production line, but the creation of a work of art. The museum is smaller than Ferrari or Lamborghini but the cars are a level above the others and can be seen from every angle. The only thing lacking at all three factories is the chance to hear the engines being revved, although the Lamborghini factory does have a stage where the engine is started to be driven for testing. As trips go, this was one of the more expensive ones that we have done, but the opportunity to see this number of supercars, inside and out, made it very much worth the cost.
This private tour is neither private, nor a tour. We booked a private tour and they put us in a group tour. We refused and an hour later they sent us a private driver. No tour guide. Just a driver with very limited English and no knowledge. This was just a shuttle service between museums. The only tour guide was provided by Lamborghini for 40 minutes when you tour the factory. This was the best part of the day because it was actually interesting, however, we ended up part of the original group tour people for the only part of the day that we had an actual tour guide. Lunch outside the Ferrari Museum in Marinello was included but no Balsamic Vinegar tasting was even mentioned. Overall, I wouldn't suggest spending $350 per person for a shuttle service between museums and a mediocre lunch. The listing is quite misleading.
I thank Mr. M. for the timely review. It had never happened but unfortunately a misunderstanding during the booking triggered a problem with the customer and despite the timeliness with which we organized, trying to clarify the misunderstandings, a solution for the tour of Mr. M. obviously we did not find the right one. feeling. Mr. M did not like the presence of three other customers in the 9-seater Mercedes van organized for the tour. Mr. M. then traveled and made all the visits to museums and factories with his son in another 9-seater Mercedes van that we made available to him within 35 minutes without compromising the timing of the scheduled visits. Mr. M., without raising any new problem, got on the new private Mercedes with his son but as soon as he left, just 5 minutes from the pick up, he was very efficient in requesting the Tour Operator to cancel the payment of the services he was enjoying. , then the second solution requires a 50% discount on the price, without telling the driver to stop the service and go back to the hotel. Our guide was in the first car and met Mr. M. at the museum entrances, but no feeling was found here either. Our guides take care of the correct management of the tour, of the tickets, of the respect of the visiting calendars, of the special needs of the customers and gladly speak with the customers and Mr. M's tour had no problems. All visits to museums are free, if there are any questions the museum's internal guides answer and help, on visits to factories there are only specialized guides from the car manufacturer. The lunch did not live up to expectations and the restaurant was not exclusive to Mr. M but we do not understand why Mr. M. arrived late at the museum entrance to spend a lot of time at the table for lunch. Unfortunately, visits to food companies (Balsamic Vinegar) and tastings have recently been banned by the government for anti-covid safety. We have already collaborated with the tour operator's Suppliers Office, verified and resolved any source, even remote misunderstanding with customers. As all the reviews we have received and which are published in all the websites that evaluate our activity attest, Mr. M. is for us alone so we thank him for participating. Thanks for your attention.
