Had a wonderful trip on the “morning Etna tour”. Our guide Roberto was excellent- he was extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with Etna and Sicily in general, which he made fun. The lunch at the winery was also great and refreshingly nobody tried to sell us anything! I would definitely recommend the tour.
In the summer months wear good footwear and protection from the sun. The tour organization also has shoes for you, but they are often old and worn. Our rour guide Riccardo was super nice and knew everything you wanted to know.
Great tour with our excellent guide (Roberto), who answered all the questions raised during the tour. Definitely recommended! Visiting the caves have been the dot over the i.
Bucket-List Highlight: Mount Etna Tour with Danielle! If I could give this tour more than 5 stars, I would! We booked our Mount Etna tour through TripAdvisor, and it turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip. Our guide, **Daniela**, was top-tier from start to finish. A few key highlights that made this experience so special: * **Incredible Knowledge & Communication:** Daniela speaks fluent, natural English and understood all of our questions effortlessly. He is remarkably well-educated, effortlessly weaving together deep insights into geology, volcanology, local biology, and Sicilian culture and customs. * **Engaging & Fun Atmosphere:** He has a wonderful, self-aware sense of humor—his cheeky, lighthearted jokes had the entire group laughing and relaxed right away. He was incredibly personable, making a point to engage with everyone individually. * **The Perfect Itinerary:** The day struck the ideal balance between taking in breathtaking sites and truly understanding what we were looking at. Daniela explained how active volcanoes function, how Mount Etna operates across its various craters, and tied the big picture together in a way that was clear, accessible, and fascinating. * **Safety & Professionalism:** Beyond being a brilliant guide, Daniela is an exceptional, professional driver. Navigating mountain roads can be intimidating, but we felt completely safe and at ease the entire time. * **A Fantastic Finale:** To top it all off, the tour concluded with a lovely, authentic Sicilian lunch and a fantastic local wine tasting. This was a true bucket-list experience—now checked off, though I would gladly do it all over again in a heartbeat! I took a million photos, but the memories created by Daniela's leadership are what will really stay with us. **If you are planning a trip to Mount Etna, do not hesitate—book this tour!**
Daniel was a great guide. He was humourous and very knowledgable. Picked us up at our hotel. Perfect day
Getting to see Etna up close was really incredible. Our tour guide was very informative. We got to see some volcanic craters and experience the terrain, and the walk/hike was not too challenging, so most people should be able to do it. If you're looking to go to the top of the volcano, just be aware that this tour does not do that. I would recommend packing snacks on this tour because the wine experience comes at the end and doesn't provide very much food. The wine was good, but I do wish there had been more food and maybe some information about wine production in the region during that time.
Very fun experience. Our guide was amazing and really took us to some great views and interesting spots. Very knowledgeable and I loved his explanations about how the rocks and craters form. The lava tunnel was super cool too. Definitely worth a trip!
I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide Roberto was excellent and was not just extremely kind and energetic, but also very knowledgeable and provided us with so much information about Mt. Etna not only while we were hiking, but also on the ride there and back. Transportation was convenient as we were picked up and dropped off close to our hotel and they were able to accommodate food allergies for the provided lunch with wine tasting.
Roberto, our hiking guide and driver, was very knowledgeable and hilarious. We learnt a lot of facts about Mount Etna enroute and during our excursion. They also provided hiking boots and jackets for us. We were able to visit one the lava tunnels of which were provided helmets and scaled an old crater. A once in my lifetime opportunity and don’t worry you won’t be next to lava, so it was very safe. The lunch too was really nice and the wine a wonderful way to recoup after the hike.
Our tour guide was Giovanni and he was fantastic. We could tell he enjoys being a tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable not only about Etna but also the history of Sicily. We learned so much in just a short time accompanying him on the tour. The food was great and they even gave my son extra pasta on request. Can’t beat this tour which we suggest you should do before you take a dip in the sea!
