Loved it. I am visiting Meteora as a solo traveler and wanted to spend as much of my time on the sandstone as possible. Chris was an excellent guide, making sure we had water and hiking sticks, sharing the history and geology of the area. 100% recommend! I booked this after I had spend the morning on a tour with him hiking already so I was excited to see more of the area with him.

A beautiful route through the most hidden areas of Meteora, among rocks, paths, and incredible corners. In addition, it allows you to get to know the climbing routes up close and discover landscapes that are not seen on the more common routes. The route goes through the forest and ends with a spectacular sunset in a beautiful place. Chris, our guide, was fantastic: very attentive, professional, and with a lot of experience. He told us a lot of interesting facts and the history of Meteora. A totally recommended experience!

It was even better than anything I could’ve imagined. The hike we did before sunset, exploring the rocks from above and learning how Meteora was created, was stunning. And then, the final push to reach the sunset viewpoint was an incredible experience. But most of all, our guide Chris made the whole experience truly special. He was with us the whole time, making sure we were comfortable, enjoying every step, and learning a little bit about everything along the way. You could really tell how much he loves what he does and how much he cares about the people he takes with him. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Meteora, and I would absolutely love to do another route with Chris!

My son had problems with his foot on the actual day, but we were able to join on another day, great. My son then went alone later, because the path was a bit uneven for me. He liked it a lot. Very nice and knowledgeable tour guide. We found a Greek tortoise, but you are not allowed to pick it up because they are highly protected, but it is great to observe.

We were a bit apprehensive initially but this was the best part of our trip to Meteroa. Evan our guide was knowledgeable, it was just the 2 of us and it was just like having a personal guide to the region. The initial climb up the holly Spirit is the hardest part but worth it. We are ovcasional hikers and it was all manageable. Well worth the effort as we got more out of this than the Monasteries tour the next morning. The off the beaten track of the well worn Monastery tour, experiencing the magic of Meteroa from the bottom up!! Thank you Evan - you were amazing.

What an amazing experience! Evan was an exceptional guide - he led us through the hike, showed us a very cool church built into the side of the rocks, multiple incredible viewpoints, and was so helpful with information about Meteora - including its history, geology, wildlife, climbing, and how all of the monasteries compare, not to mention a great restaurant recommendation in Kalabaka. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Meteora. Thank you Evan!

Our trip to Meteora was organized by Visit Meteora company. The service they provided was exemplary. Our guide Hristo had an incredible depth of understanding about the region — from the geology of the mountains and the history of Meteora monasteries to the local plants and their uses. Hiking with Hristo felt like an immersive lesson in nature, history, and culture. The Hermit Caves Sunset Hiking Experience tour was demanding at times but Hristo provided the right level of support and instruction and we always felt safe and comfortable. He also had a wonderful eye for photography offering breaks just at the right places. To explore Meteora on foot is the best way to see and explore this beautiful region. To have a local guide such as Hristo is a treat which allows for a meaningful and inspiring experience.

One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Greece! The Hermit Caves hike was far beyond a typical sightseeing tour — it felt like a journey through history, nature, and spirituality all at once. The landscapes were breathtaking, with hidden caves, dramatic rock formations, forest paths, and incredible sunset views over Meteora. Our guide was exceptional: knowledgeable, passionate, patient, and genuinely inspiring. We learned so much about the hermits who once lived inside the caves, the monasteries, local traditions, geology, and even the plants and wildlife of the area. The stories and conversations made the experience deeply meaningful and personal. The hike itself was adventurous but manageable, with many beautiful stops for photos and moments to simply appreciate the silence and atmosphere of Meteora away from the crowds. The sunset at the end was unforgettable. If you want to experience the authentic and hidden side of Meteora, this tour is an absolute must. Highly recommended!

Great hike! With only us (two friends) and the guide Chris present, it was like hiking with a friend of a friend who seamlessly kept track of both our safety and pointed out interesting tidbits along the way. Chris took us through the hills to heights we couldn't imagine reaching with such ease and past sights we'll never forget - including turtles! As we'd taken the half-day monastery tour with Visit Meteora earlier in the day Chris could personalise the hike to our interests and level. Highly recommend this tour!
