Joignez-vous à cette visite touristique matinale à Météore et vivez pleinement cette véritable merveille accompagnée d'un guide local compétent. La visite commence par une prise en charge pratique (avec notre minibus VIP) depuis votre hôtel à Kalabaka ou Kastraki. Au cours de cette visite guidée, vous aurez l'occasion de voir les six magnifiques monastères et d'admirer l'intérieur de trois d'entre eux. En outre, admirez quelques-uns des joyaux cachés les plus spectaculaires de Météores comme l'ancienne chapelle de Doupiani et la magnifique grotte Saint-Georges « Mandilas ». Vous découvrirez aussi « l’autre facette » des Météores, comme la vérité sur les raisons pour lesquelles les ermites se sont installés dans ces imposantes grottes il y a mille ans et comment les moines ont réalisé « l’impossible ». Si l’anglais n’est pas votre langue principale, ne vous inquiétez pas ! Nous offrons des audioguides gratuits en espagnol, français, allemand, italien, japonais, chinois et coréen. Enfin, profitez-en pour profiter des vues panoramiques à couper le souffle et capturer des photos incroyables que vous chérirez pour toujours.
Au pied des rochers sacrés des Météores et non loin de Kalambaka se trouve Kastraki (traduit par petit château en grec). Ce village pittoresque tire son nom d'un petit château byzantin, dont les ruines sont encore conservées aujourd'hui.
Le monastère de Saint-Nicolas d'Anapafsas est littéralement suspendu dans les airs sur un petit rocher et est le premier monastère que nous rencontrons sur notre chemin du village de Kastraki à la forêt de pierre de Holy Meteora.
Le monastère de Roussanou, également connu sous le nom d'Arsani, se dresse au sommet d'une impressionnante falaise verticale et escarpée des Météores, entre les monastères de Saint-Nicolas Anapafsas et Varlaam.
Le monastère du Grand Météore ou Transfiguration du Christ, exprime la grandeur et l'histoire des Saintes Météores, car c'est le monastère le plus ancien et le plus important.
Le monastère de Varlaam ou monastère de tous les saints est situé sur un rocher imposant exactement en face du Grand Météore et c'est le deuxième plus grand monastère des Météores.
Le monastère de la Sainte Trinité est le troisième plus ancien monastère des Météores et est le plus difficile à atteindre, car les visiteurs doivent traverser un chemin en descente puis monter 145 marches creusées dans la roche. On dit que les premiers ermites ont utilisé une échelle de corde et un filet pour la construire et qu'ils ont passé 70 ans à transporter tout le matériel nécessaire.
Le monastère de Saint-Étienne (Agios Stefanos) est situé juste au-dessus de la ville de Kalambaka et est le monastère le plus accessible des Météores, car il n'y a pas de marches pour atteindre l'entrée et l'accès est facile par un petit pont de pierre.

Nous offrons un ramassage pratique depuis votre hôtel à Kalabaka ou Kastraki. Si le nom de votre hôtel ne figure pas dans la liste, veuillez nous contacter directement après votre réservation. L'heure de prise en charge depuis Kalambaka est comprise entre 08 : 45 et 09 : 00 tandis que depuis Kastraki entre 09 : 00 et 09 : 15.

- Les monastères de Météores imposent un code vestimentaire aux visiteurs. Les hommes sont tenus de porter des pantalons longs et des chemises à manches. Les femmes doivent porter des jupes qui tombent sous le genou (les pantalons ne sont pas autorisés) et se couvrir les épaules. Alternativement, les femmes peuvent utiliser une longue écharpe enroulée autour de la taille pour répondre aux exigences du code vestimentaire.
- Les monastères de Météores n'acceptent que des espèces pour les frais d'entrée (5 € par personne/monastère).

This is a great tour. The guide is very informative and provided information during all the time we were on the bus between locations. The monasteries are beautiful. They generally provide enough time to visit them, however we wished we could have had about 10 more minutes at Valaam since it is very beautiful on the outside. This tour is very much worth the money to avoid the stress of parking and get a lot of information about the history and area. Since we were not staying in the main towns we did have to meet them at the old train station, but that was fine as there is plenty of parking there.

Fabulous experience. Our guide was polite, funny, informative and easy to understand (we are Americans). The trip was just the right length of time. They picked us up on time and even offered to drop us off anywhere on the way back, or at our hotel. I wish I remembered our guide and driver’s names. They were great! Cannot recommend either more highly!

The visit is simply extraordinary, the monasteries are magnificent, walking through the weather is something wonderful. On the other hand, the provider Meteora Trip was very disappointing, I had booked a small group, we were 36 people, they were supposed to pick me up at my hotel, and they canceled the day before to give me a meeting point that was the train station. I was really disappointed because I had made arrangements with my hotel to leave my vehicle and my luggage on-site. And the guide was really unpleasant from the start when I asked him why the group was so large when I had paid more to have a small group.

The pickup was not cancelled, the meeting point was changed because the accommodation provided was not a hotel and could not be safely accessed by a bus. Regarding the group size, there were not 36 guests on board. During some extremely hot summer days, we choose to operate with slightly larger buses because they provide better and more efficient air conditioning, while still keeping the group at a comfortable small size. Finally, we do not have different prices for small or large groups. We appreciate your feedback and hope this helps clarify the arrangements.
Excellent communication before and after the tour. Punctual. Informative and friendly guide. We were lucky to be in a small group van. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to explore the monasteries which you did on your own. Beat the crowds! A super tour. Highly recommended especially with a historian guide.

Meteora is a fabulous place to visit, with tremendous cultural and geographical wonders. On our tour, we visited 3 monasteries. Our guide and driver were very helpful. A word of caution for travelers with physical challenges such as bad knees or hips--you have to climbs a LOT of stairs and walk some distance up hills to visit some of the monasteries. Plan your visit accordingly!
