Great experience. The only issue was it started 45 mins after our start time. Still worth doing though. Good Italian guide who spoke excellent English!
Positives: they provide jackets and helmets. Tour was very slow paced, you barely go over 15km/h. We thought the quads would be used to get closer to the crater, but you just go further from it, making it a worse experience than probably walking. Tempo probably depends on the group as well, but in general we could have probably covered more distance in the same amount of time by walking. You don’t get to see any craters, just the mountain from below, same view as driving up to the gathering point. You follow a paved road botheringly slowly, and when you get to the very light off-road section and anticipate a bit of excitement you’ll be let down by the 2km/h pace, even though the quads are capable of much more. They stop for the sunset in a random field with not much to see other than lava rocks and the last 5 minutes of the sunset because of the slow pace. They should have divided the tour into two groups, where one is for children, elderly and anxious people. And the other one for people that actually want to use quads for what they are made for and experience the craters at a closer hold. Don’t be fooled by the marketing photos, only resemblance you’ll experience is that you’re sitting on a quad. 130€ is a fair price if you actually get to experience what they promise and advertise, but we could have been without this experience and had a better time + saved some money. The “cave” shouldn’t be called a cave, it is maybe a 30m3 hole in the ground. Very underwhelming. Tour guides are ok, but that’s probably since most of them are stoned. The quads are how they make the majority of the money so the guides can be pushy when it comes to “recommending” to rent quads. We were promised that the quads was the best way to experience the volcano and that we were super lucky because there was an eruption going on. Our guide said we would be able to get a closer look at the action happening, but we experienced the contrary. Key points: - Probably exciting if you’ve never operated a motorized vehicle before - photos do not reflect the actual trip you’re getting - Due to the slow pace, you might miss the sunset - Underwhelming view, cave and quad-experience. - You don’t get close to any craters
Thank you very much for your detailed feedback. We are truly sorry that the experience did not reflect your expectations. Shared tours are always mixed, and for guests seeking a more tailored pace we recommend booking a private tour or requesting detailed information in advance. Please also note that quads cannot speed within a protected natural park, so if you were expecting a fast-paced ride, it is understandable you may have felt disappointed. As for the sunset, our experienced guides usually plan the timing carefully to ensure the program is respected, unless unforeseen circumstances arise, which are unfortunately beyond our control. Regarding the lava cave, there are hundreds on Etna, and the one included in this itinerary was chosen for its accessibility (given the mixed nature of the groups) and its location, which offers a privileged position to enjoy the landscape and the sunset. Finally, with respect to the craters, this specific tour does not include visits to craters, and this is not indicated in the program. We are sorry if there was a misunderstanding on this point. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and will use it to continue improving our services.
Great location and amazing experience! The tour was fun and educational. English speaking guides were amazing and got to drive through some of the most beautiful locations. Highly recommend.
Wonderful experience, from the quad ride with local guides to the wine and food testing with our guide, Simone, smart and very knowledgeable! A perfect day, we returned home satisfied! Highly recommended.
Angelo and crew were awesome we had a wonderful time on our 2hr trip great experience defiantly recommend it.
2 hours surrounded by nature, congratulations to Andrea a very good and very professional guide. Highly recommended
Very suggestive experience, we were lucky enough to see a live eruption and our guide Giuseppe took us to discover the lava caves, making us discover the history of the Etna national park and making us have fun crossing it with the quad. Really nice day!
My wife and I chose a full tour of Mount Etna through EtnaTribe. They picked us up directly from the hotel in perfect time with what was agreed; during the outward journey the guide Danilo explained to us in precise and detailed different info and curiosities about Etna, Catania and the Etnei countries; we stopped to visit a cave derived from a lava flow. Reached the refuge at high altitude, we took the quad bikes and made a ride of about 1h 30 between paved and dirt roads directly above old lava flows, really fun and suggestive. At 1 pm we set off for the return, but stopping at a farm in Zafferana Etnea for a tasting of typical local products, really good. Overall it was all really nice, we spent almost a particular day, really fantastic.

We were extremely disappointed. The advert stated the duration was for 6hrs with 2.5hrs driving the quads. We were also told our guide spoke English. All were complete opposite. We were picked up late and only had 20mins to view the small crater. Were advised not to go to the top, which we wanted.

It was just myself and my guide, the routes on which we travelled were straight forward anyone can ride a quad on route. My guide was very friendly and gave me lots of interesting information. Got back to my hotel wishing that I could do that tour again, which I will most certainly doing in the future. Highest Marks.
