We were picked up promptly at our hotel. Our guide Yesh was great, and asked what changes to the itinerary we wanted. We skipped the Nishki market since we were already staying next to it. We went to Nara earlier so we could feed the deer. Yesh was knowledgeable and walked us through many of the shrines, knew where to go, and good picture spots. Took us to a good lunch spot. Great flexible way to see sights in Kyoto!

We customised the itinerary and Udara was flexible with sequencing the attractions for us. He was well prepared - brought umbrella considering the rain forecast, and it did rain. We covered the highlights of Kyoto before heading out to Nara in the afternoon and the one hour drive is well worth it - to experience the temple, shrines, and the scared, friendly deers of Nara. Highly recommended experience!

I felt like our driver who had a masters degree in tourism was not capable of driving a vehicle over half the speed limit. He was very friendly and helpful and although I asked him not to call me, sir three times he continued to call me, sir and my daughter’s ma’am very disrespectful for us. The most disappointing aspect of the whole tour was the fact that he was not from Japan and he spoke less Japanese than we were able to speak, which is very little although I like to enjoy English when I go to a foreign country, I want to experience their culture and having somebody from another country try to explain the culture in Japan to me was very disappointing, especially considering the price that we paid for the tour
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We truly value your comments, as they help us improve our service. First, we sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. We’re glad to hear that you found the driver friendly and helpful, but we regret the concerns you raised regarding driving speed and communication style. Safety is always our top priority, and our drivers are instructed to drive cautiously in accordance with road conditions and local regulations. However, we understand how this may have affected your experience and will review this internally. Regarding the use of “sir” and “ma’am,” we apologize if this felt uncomfortable or inappropriate. This is often intended as a sign of respect, but we understand cultural preferences differ, and we will ensure better sensitivity moving forward. We also regret that the cultural experience did not meet your expectations. Our team includes guides from diverse backgrounds, all trained to provide accurate and meaningful insights into Japan. That said, we understand your preference for a native Japanese guide to enhance the authenticity of the experience, and we will take this feedback seriously as we continue to improve our service offerings. We truly appreciate your honest feedback and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Udara is a good driver and spoke good English. He gave us enough information about each place we visited. He was friendly and considerate, and he found a Lawson shop for us when we wanted to buy drinks and snacks during the trip. He took us to the places we wanted to see in Kyoto, and later in the afternoon, to Nara to see the deer as well. He looked after us and also took some good photos for us. We had a lovely day sightseeing in Kyoto, and we avoided the hassle of doing the driving ourselves.
