Retrouvez votre guide spécialiste de l'histoire de France dans le lieu de votre choix en Champagne ou Meuse. Voyagez dans un minibus confortable. Heure de début recommandée: 8h30. Commencez la journée par un arrêt à l'ossuaire de «La ferme de Navarin», monument inauguré par le général Gouraud en 1924, à la mémoire des soldats français morts pendant la Grande Guerre. Votre guide vous conduira ensuite dans la Meuse, au cœur de la forêt où se trouve le refuge «Kronprinz», l'un des camps de soldats allemands. Explorez la colline tristement célèbre de Vauquois, pleine de galeries, où 14 000 soldats ont perdu la vie le long d'une toute petite portion du front ouest. Voyagez jusqu'au site historique de Varennes-en-Argonne, visitez le mémorial de guerre américain de Pennsylvanie et admirez le magnifique panorama sur la vallée de l'Aire. Écoutez l'histoire fascinante du roi Louis XVI qui y a été arrêté en 1791, alors qu'il tentait de s'échapper après la Révolution française. Découvrez le cimetière américain le plus connu de la Première Guerre mondiale à Romagne sous Montfaucon. Traversez l'impressionnant ossuaire de Douaumont, où reposent des soldats français et allemands non identifiés.

We had a private guide pick us up at our hotel in Reims for a full day tour which included a tasty restaurant lunch. Thé guide was extremely knowledgeable and had university degrees in history snd philosophy. As he drove, he provided a wealth information about the area as well as a the sites. We are fascinated by history and we couldn’t have been more pleased by the tour or our guide. We would highly recommend this tour!!! We were in the area to tour champagne houses as well as to bike through the Champagne and Alsace regions and this was a nice accompaniment to that trip.

This tour was absolutely amazing with the best tour guide! Jerome was so knowledgeable about French history and all of our stops along the way. He even made lunch reservations for us at a local restaurant. The people there were so warm and welcoming, wonderful food and company. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone even remotely interested in history.

Jerome was amazing! We had such an educational experience with him seeing the forts. He gave so much other background information. He kept the perfect pace, and showed us very cool spots. It was the perfect experience and I would recommend to anyone who is interested in history, or really anyone to experience these places. They were so interesting!
