Well worth the experience. Weyu was an excellent guide and her knowledge of the area's culture was exceptional. The food was also great!

Thank you so much, Gary! It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday and learning about Australia.
Our tour guide was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and patient throughout the tour. The food was delicious as well.
Thank you for the review, Erika!
I've lived in NYC (and even went to grad school in Harlem) but I rarely do I get to experience my city as a tourist. It was really neat to see it through that lens. The food was really delicious and it was cool to have the explanations to go along with trying it. I have a deeper appreciation for the complexity of Harlem.
I went to the Harlem Tour and it was a vibrant and culturally rich experience. What made it special was the thoughtful mix of culinary stops that celebrated both Caribbean and African roots that helped shaped the Harlem into the neighborhood it is today. From the moment our tour began, our guide set the tour with incredible energy and knowledge. What I loved the most was that weren’t just sampling food but learning about the resilience, migration, history and community through the food we tasted.
This tour was amazing and unique way to connect more deeply with Harlem’s current culinary scene through three carefully curated stops that seamlessly blended neighborhood favorites with higher end offerings. However, what really set this tour apart was our guide, Weyu. When unexpected weather threatened to derail our plans, she handled it with such professionalism and grace. She quickly pivoted the route and made sure the group stayed comfortable without missing a beat. The tour still flowed seamlessly, and we even got to visit a hidden gem that wasn’t originally on the itinerary. Weyu’s passion for Harlem — its food, culture, and history — came through in every moment. She shared thoughtful insights, and her warmth made the group feel more like a brunch with friends than a formal tour. Can’t recommend it enough!
I booked this tour as a date night for my husband and I and it was a 9/10 ( there was a downpour of rain). As busy parents we have limited time to fit what we enjoy as individuals into one date, and I'm so unbelievable grateful at how well this kid-free ( I don't know if kids are allowed but with all the walking a stroller would definitely be needed for littles) date went. We had Weyu as a tour guide and her ability to fit in food ( hubby box checked) and the cultural history ( my box checked) of how it came to be is flawless. I geeked out when the chef told us about his journey to Harlem and also how he had has to change with the demographic of who lives in Harlem ( I mean he literally opened up a BOBA SHOP). My husband was happily surprised by the food portions and we got to try foods we've never had. Since it was heavy rainfall at one point in the trip I suggest you take that into mind if you're not keen on walking in the rain ( Weyu keeps the show going.....) for us it was no biggie since we ended the tour with DELECTABLE desserts. I definitely think this is something I'll do with just my girlfriends and make a day out of it! Food Culture ( and since we're in Harlem explore the bar scene). If you're on the fence about this, JUST DO IT !!!! Harlem is continually changing and it's a treat to see how the one thing that connects us all (FOOD) has such a deep and rich history. Thank you Weyu for giving us parents a truly needed experience! I'll be back!!!!!
This was such a fun experience! I was in Manhattan for the weekend and this was a perfect activity for Saturday morning, despite the rain. We had delicious food, from the Caribbean to African, and got to meet most of the chefs/owners. Weyu is a great guide and she balanced education with group interaction. It rained alot towards the end of the tour and caused delays but Weyu pivoted with optimism and quick thinking and we ended the tour with a mother-daughter owned bakery! Cupcakes make everything better, right??! There are some gems in the Passport she gives so definitely save that! I'll absolutely be doing this tour! Oh! Be sure to where comfortable shoes.
Thank you for this review!
