La colline d'Ouen-Toro s'élève face à cette pointe rocheuse. Une route longe le parc municipal et mène au sommet, à 128 mètres d'altitude, qui surplombe la lagune. Elle est couronnée de deux superbes canons, installés par l'armée australienne en 1940. De là-haut, on peut admirer une vue imprenable sur Nouméa et ses environs. En redescendant, la route qui contourne la colline offre de nombreux points de vue très intéressants sur les différents aspects de la ville. Au sud, vous apercevrez juste en contrebas les hôtels Méridien et Château Royal, bordés par la plage du Château Royal, ainsi que la plage d’Anse Vata et, plus au loin, les îles aux Canards et l’Îlot Maître. En continuant vers l’ouest, les deux baies, la Baie des Citrons et la Baie de l’Orphelinat, s’étendent à perte de vue. Au nord, on aperçoit les quartiers résidentiels, tels que Val Plaisance, Motor Pool, Receiving et N’Géa. Enfin, à l’est se trouvent la baie de Sainte-Marie et ses petits îlots. Les montagnes du Mont-Dore et les collines du Grand Sud de la Nouvelle-Calédonie se profilent au loin.
Située entre deux imposants rochers, le Rocher César en direction de la pointe Magnin et le célèbre Rocher à la voile, du côté de la baie de Lemon, l'Anse Vata est l'un des principaux sites touristiques de Nouméa. À l'est, une promenade piétonne longe la longue plage, la promenade Roger-Laroque, où se succèdent hôtels, restaurants, bars, boutiques et discothèques.
Située à moins de 10 minutes du centre-ville, la Baie des Citrons est aujourd’hui le lieu balnéaire le plus animé de la « capitale » calédonienne. Boutiques, bars, restaurants et discothèques se succèdent le long de la promenade, pour le plus grand plaisir des touristes et des Nouméens…
Autrefois le siège de plusieurs activités industrielles, notamment la fonte du nickel dans les ateliers de Chaleix, la baie de l’« Orphelinat » est aujourd’hui principalement un très beau quartier résidentiel qui abrite également la marina de South Port. Le front de mer a récemment été aménagé en une voie piétonne et cyclable bordée de palmiers, permettant aux sportifs et aux familles de découvrir les baies. Un autre vestige de la Seconde Guerre mondiale est une ancre ayant appartenu à l'armée américaine, installée dans le pays à cette époque. Elle trône désormais au centre du rond-point principal du quartier, face à la baie, et a pris le nom de « carrefour de l'ancre marine ».
La Place des Cocotiers est, depuis la fin du XIXe siècle, le cœur de la ville de Nouméa. D'une superficie de près de 4 hectares (et d'une longueur de 400 mètres d'est en ouest), sa vaste esplanade en pente douce est un lieu de rencontre, de tranquillité et de festivités tout au long de l'année.

Quite simple ...we must have booked a tour that no one would want to recommend. It was totally boring, our driver just raved on and the places we went to were unwelcoming. A few of us had to use a toilet.... OMG nothing but filth on the walls and floor, for an Island that has so many tourists how can the locals expect paying tourists to have to use these facilities. Nothing good to say about Port Villa, was over charged for a few items and the lady asked for more money. While being driven around it was most disturbing seeing rubbish piled up in the streets. With so many visiting tourists this was not what we expected. Perhaps Carnival cruise line should investigate the tours they offer. Totally dissatisfied and will not return.

Sorry to say of all the tours we have taken, this was the worst. The guide was not agreeable to putting the 6 of us in one van, although easily doable. Then she spoke almost no English, said very little in general on the entire tour, and provided no value than a drive around the island, which we could have done much easier and cheaper by. ourselves.

Unfortunate timing which can't blame on the tour company as Monday, April 6 was a holiday in Noumea, New Caledonia so much of the city was closed. However, our guide Florence was not well suited to answer questions or understand our questions as her English was extremely poor thereby we didn't learn much about the city and its history.

We just finished our tour of noumea with michael. Michael made us feel comfortable and showed us a few hidden spots, very informational . Can say that it was an amazing tour and a lot of fun!
This tour was very informative and enjoyable! Antoine was the tour guide and I thought he did a fantastic job at explaining relevant NC history and culture. The sites were interesting and the bakery visit made it a fab activity! Would’ve loved the option to tour other parts of the island with this company.

He even went out of his way to contact another tour company about refunding my money because they had cancelled my afternoon tour only 2 hours before it was scheduled to begin.
