Your cruise ship arrived in front of Nouméa harbour at around 7:30 a.m. and then decided not to dock, claiming unfavorable wind conditions. However, the conditions observed that day were completely normal. In fact, this is the type of wind we experience every day during summer in New Caledonia. The weather was good. We had local customers that day, and our boats went out normally to Signal Island. We have weather records, screenshots, and photos taken on site confirming that the conditions were good. To this day, no one seems to understand why the ship finally decided not to dock. I am in contact with the harbour master’s office, and even they are questioning this decision, as the ship was right in front of the harbour and no particular weather issue was observed. I therefore hope you will seek explanations from the cruise company, which is the reason your port call was cancelled and therefore, above all, the reason you were unable to take part in your excursion.
