Description
Pour des groupes allant jusqu'à 4, 8 ou 16 passagers, cette excursion privée d'une journée au départ de York, juste pour votre fête, vous permettra d'explorer le pays du Bronte et le parc national des Yorkshire Dales, y compris le village des Pennines du Yorkshire de l'Ouest de Haworth (rendu célèbre par les sœurs Bronte et qui abrite le musée du presbytère de Bronte), les écluses de Bingley Five Rise (la caractéristique la plus spectaculaire du canal de Leeds et Liverpool), le village traditionnel des Yorkshire Dales de Linton (avec ses ponts de pierre et ses chutes de calcaire), l'abbaye de Bolton (où vous verrez le cadre époustouflant des ruines du monastère des Augustins du 12ème siècle); et profiter du paysage spectaculaire du parc national des Yorkshire Dales.

Itinéraire
Nous nous dirigerons vers le pays de Bronte. Votre guide vous racontera l'histoire et les particularités de la région lorsque vous traverserez Marston Moor, traverserez le bourg traditionnel de Wetherby et découvrirez le spectaculaire viaduc d'Arthington sur la Wharfe.
Notre premier arrêt est aux écluses de Bingley Five Rise, où vous verrez la plus haute serrure d'escalier du Royaume-Uni, un exploit d'ingénierie spectaculaire construit en 1774 dans le cadre du canal de Leeds et Liverpool. Vous pouvez explorer et photographier les écluses qui fonctionnent, ou simplement profiter d'un breuvage tranquille dans le Yorkshire Brew et s'imprégner de l'atmosphère locale dans le café voisin - à vous de choisir!
Nous quittons Bingley pour le court trajet qui mène à notre arrêt principal à Haworth, au bord de la rude Pennine Moors, où la famille Bronte a vécu à partir de 1820 et où les sœurs ont écrit leurs célèbres romans, pour une pause déjeuner de deux heures. Vous pouvez visiter le musée du presbytère de Bronte et la chapelle du mémorial de Bronte dans l'église voisine où leur père a prêché, ou simplement explorer les boutiques pittoresques de la rue principale pavée et déjeuner tranquillement dans l'un des cafés traditionnels: à vous de choisir!
Nous quittons Haworth et nous dirigeons vers Penistone Hill pour une pause photo afin d'admirer les vues sur les landes en direction de Top Withens, où les soeurs Bronte se sont inspirées avant de nous diriger vers le nord pour notre après-midi dans le parc national de Yorkshire Dales.
Vous arriverez dans le village pittoresque et traditionnel de Linton, dans le comté de Dales, où nous nous arrêterons pour prendre des photos de Linton Falls avant de poursuivre notre voyage dans le parc national.
L'après-midi, nous nous arrêterons à l'abbaye de Bolton, où l'entrée est gratuite et vous pourrez explorer l'église du prieuré et les ruines du prieuré augustin du XIIe siècle dans son cadre magnifique au bord d'une rivière, ou peut-être relever le défi des tremplins si vous vous sentez plus aventureux. !
Nous quittons Bolton Abbey pour continuer notre voyage à travers les Dales en direction de York, en passant par Harrogate et en apprendre un peu plus sur l'histoire de cette célèbre ville thermale.

The sceneries of Yorkshire dales are spectacular! We all enjoyed the trip tremendously. Mark, our excellent driver and tour guide, was very dedicated. He made extra efforts to maximize what we could see during the 8-hour tour. Absolutely worthwhile!

Charlotte Brontë has a special place in my heart. It was so special for me to visit her home. It really was like stepping into her life. On top of that, we visited the classic Yorkshire town of Grassington for a cuppa. Our guide, Chris, knew this area and was extremely informative and accommodating. Great day.

I loved the little farms separated by hedges and typical scenes out of storybooks, sheep...even experienced the Yorkshire traffic jam of sheep. Wonderful host and a great tour for mobility reduced people. They need a portable step for the van though. That first step up makes it very hard for short or people with mobility issues to get into the van. Easy pick up spot in the city and good long tour. At the end of the day I felt like I had seen it all. Such a knowledgeable and experienced guide, sadly I don't remember his name...unless it was Bob himself. Lots of good stops and good long bathroom breaks so we never felt rushed

Let me preface this by saying I love Viator and have had many wonderful experiences with them. This time we Toured the parsonage at Haworth and explored the Yorkshire dales. This has been a lifelong dream to visit the home of the Brontes and see the moors. It was a beautiful day. Unfortunately, the regular driver had a medical emergency and we had a substitute driver. He was lovely but didn't know much about the Brontes. Still a great day but I feel I would've learned more with the regular driver so that was a bit of a disappointment for an expensive private tour. I understand emergencies can't be helped but perhaps a backup who is more familiar with the tour or a price cut? Nevertheless, it was wonderful to see Haworth.
Howard was our guide. He was awesome and the best. Funny, kind, informative, and he made the trip wonderful. We loved his sense of humor and he was so knowledgeable of the area. This was an amazing day. Highly recommended!
Now utterly understandable why Yorkshire is called "God's own country". Fabolous tour brilliantly explained. Punctual, excellent & considerate driving. Mark is a top class guide, and the service from the beginning with BOBH great. Thank you BOBH folks for making 2 of my 5 day holiday so very good. (But be warned: you are encouraged to eat ice cream...). Every detail that I could have asked for in a day out was 5*. I suggest you book any of their tours well in advance.

A wonderful day out to Haworth Parsonage, returning via beautiful Bolton Abbey. Our driver Howard was punctual, charming, knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed showing off this beautiful part of the world. Would book for similar without hesitation.

I was the only person who had booked this day trip because of going at the very end of November ie right at the end of the season. Mark, the guide and driver was excellent: very knowledgeable and concerned about my comfort. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to go to Haworth and beyond from York.
