Description
Pendant l'Excursion sur la côte sud et à la lagune du glacier, vous passerez la journée à découvrir la diversité vivifiante du paysage islandais. Des vues sur le glacier Vatnajokull et les cascades de Skogafoss et Seljalandsfoss aux immenses blocs de glace trouvés sur la plage de diamant dans la lagune du glacier de Jökulsárlón. En chemin vers la lagune du glacier, vous traverserez la côte sud de l'Islande, une terre avec de magnifiques cascades, d'étonnantes plages de sable noir, des glaciers et volcans massifs et des fermes. Vous bénéficierez de vues inoubliables sur la région sauvage de Skaftafell dans le parc national de Vatnajokull et traverserez la splendide plaine de sable noir de Skeidararsandur. Juste avant d'atteindre la lagune, vous découvrirez également une vue sur le plus grand volcan en activité d'Islande, l'Oraefajokull.

Itinéraire
Le plus célèbre volcan d'Islande est sans aucun doute Eyjafjallajökull, dont la dernière éruption date de 2010 et a perturbé de nombreux vols en Europe pendant 1 à 2 semaines.
Sur le chemin du retour, vous vous arrêterez à une cascade unique en Islande, Seljalandsfoss. Cette cascade est très spéciale grâce au sentier derrière la cascade qui, lorsque la météo le permet, permet de profiter d'un angle de vue inédit.
Avant d'atteindre la lagune du glacier de Jokulsarlon, vous vous arrêterez à Skogafoss, une magnifique cascade qui vous permet d'accéder à de superbes vues depuis le haut et le bas de la cascade, grâce à un escalier en colimaçon.

Le glacier Vatnajokull est massif, couvrant 14 000 km2 et c'est Breidamerkurjokull, l'une des nombreuses sections de ce grand glacier, qui crée le magique lagon du glacier Jokulsarlon. De là, il y a une promenade facile vers la plage de diamant où vous pouvez voir des icebergs qui se sont échoués sur la plage de sable noir, scintillant au soleil comme des bijoux.
Lors de l'arrêt prévu à Jökulsárlón, nous vous recommandons de découvrir la plage de diamants, située à seulement quelques minutes à pied, pour admirer de superbes icebergs éparpillés sur la plage de sable noir.
Profitez de vues inoubliables sur la région sauvage de Skaftafell dans le parc national de Vatnajokull.
Traversez la magnifique plaine de sable noir de Skeidararsandur.
Ici, vous pourrez acheter à manger et des souvenirs ou faire une courte promenade dans le village ou sur la plage.

The Glacier Lagoon is stunning. On the way there and back we visited a couple of stunning waterfalls. Our guide Lasma was so knowledgeable. It is a long day but you see so much of Icelands stunning countryside.

I had taken this tour three days prior, it was absolutely amazing! When I received the email confirmation, it explained for a 730 excursion. Waiting for the tour bus from 719 until 815 I called. They explained to me the excursion started at 7:30, but they stopped by to pick me up at 7 AM. I have been downstairs having breakfast and missed the bus! Truly a disappointment!! The main goal for this trip was to see the diamond Beach, that was the main part of this excursion. Thankfully, I had taken a previous excursion to win the diamond beach, but the weather was a little crappy. This day, the weather was beautiful, and I’m sure they had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, I missed out! I’m not pointing fingers, but I wish it would’ve been clearer on the email they sent to be in the lobby at seven and not 730. If you booked this trip, make sure you know what time they’re going to pick you up.

Be aware of tour start time. My ticket from Viator stated tour starts at 8:00 am and be at pickup location at 7:30 am. We arrived at 7:25 am and waited for 50 minutes with several other tour buses coming and going. I called the actual tour company to inquire about our tour only to find out that it actually started at 7:30 am and we should have been at the pickup location at 7:00 am. The bus left without us. I sent requested screenshots of the Viator ticket to the tour company so they can address it with Viator. I requested a refund from Viator explaining what happened. Viator did refund the entire amount within a couple of hours. Unfortunately, I can’t comment on the tour itself. This was our last day and we were unable to book for another day. This was NO fault of the tour company.

We had two of the most experienced and wonderful people to take care of us. Chris our guide was great, keeping us informed and making sure we were doing great! Robert , our driver took us safely for 14 hours through some of the most challenging wind storms I’ve ever been through!! Bravo!! Great tour

It is a thankful tour by the Chief who has gone over 800km. This tour takes at least eight hours away, so if you have a dry photo during the bus ride, it should be taken immediately. It's a great view because it doesn't stop. This part is so bad. It's unfortunate to understand a hundred times because of the tour time. Toilets and meals, rather often stop for shopping. Don't even ignore the money you need to spend at least to sit in the restaurant. The tour guide (Gunnar) is very knowledgeable and explains a lot on the bus, so the journey will be boring because it's long on the bus, but sometimes it seems boring for others. In other comments I saw a lot that we were going to see Aurora for the last time, but we didn't hear about Aurora, and there was no stop on the way home. As a result felt like a journey to the Diamond Beach. Of course, the nature of Iceland is indescribably beautiful. But it feels like it's just the price of oil and the cost of driving. If I had a glacier hiking tour I would also like to.

Overall incredible experience which was coordinated well and delivered on both the lagoon and diamond beach, providing an unforgettable experience.
