We had an amazing experience on our tour to the Glacier Lagoon (20th July). The scenery was breathtaking, and the entire journey gave us a wonderful opportunity to discover more about the beauty, culture, and daily life of Iceland. Our guide, Elvar, was outstanding. He explained the history and natural features of the Glacier Lagoon clearly, concisely, and in a very engaging way. He also shared interesting information about Icelandic food, traditions, and social customs, which made the long journey both enjoyable and informative. His English was excellent, and he spoke at a comfortable pace, making everything easy to understand. He managed the schedule extremely well and gave us the right amount of time at each stop, so the tour never felt rushed or disorganized. Our driver, George, was exceptionally careful and professional throughout the trip. His calm and responsible driving made us feel completely safe, especially considering Iceland’s weather and road conditions. Unfortunately, the strong wind prevented us from taking the planned boat trip on the lagoon. Although this was disappointing, it was clearly beyond the tour company’s control and did not take away from the overall quality of the experience. We would especially like to praise Elvar for his knowledge, professionalism, excellent communication skills, and friendly manner. Together, Elvar and George made this tour memorable, comfortable, and truly special. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting beautiful Iceland.
I had a fantastic day! The various stops are beautiful; even though they might seem brief, they are long enough to enjoy the landscape and take photos. The drive itself is simply magnificent, with commentary on the history and formation of these locations. Many thanks to our guide, Ivy, for sharing interesting and cute stories, and thanks to our driver, Dave!
The trip included getting to see so much of the island which is impressive. Our guide (Sunni, probably messed up spelling) was fantastic. She told you so much history and made a long bus ride enjoyable!
This tour is long, but definitely worthwhile! There was also a detour due to a problem on the original route so it took longer. The Staff were so helpful as my Mum uses a cane, and each time, they helped her up and down the stairs even before we could get to her. It would be nice to have a more accessible bus, such as a 'kneeling bus.' Sharp, our tour guide, was great with his tour information and personal anecdotes. The drivers were amazing as well, we felt safe and cared for. There was a passenger who wasn't feeling well and a quick stop for fresh air and the washroom was provided. The time at some locations was a little fast, and that is hard for people with disabilities, but I think that could've been due to the detour delay. The food places were great choices and the options were delicious. The lagoon boat ride was simply amazing! Highly recommended!
Good experience good guide, good weather to see the seal
Great detailed and enthusiastic guide Vjeran, from history, great insights, happy demeanor and went above and beyond to bring a great trip and extra swing by black sand beach
What a beautiful trip! Our guide, Vjeran, was the highlight of the day. He went above and beyond by making extra stops, helping everyone with photos, and keeping us entertained with his great sense of humor. He was kind, respectful, and very knowledgeable about every place we visited. Although the glacier lagoon boat tour was cancelled due to the weather, it was beyond the tour company’s control. Overall, an amazing experience with so much to see in a single day. Highly recommend!
By far my FAVORITE tour of my Iceland trip!! The tour guide is very knowledgeable and friendly. He passed around a paper where the whole bus had a chance to ask him any questions. The glaciers were AMAZING to see in person. Definitely book the glacier boat tour!! The only piece of feedback I would give is to set aside time for diamond beach, it seemed like only those who didn’t go on the glacier boat ride had time to see. Also - just a note that this is a big bus tour. THANK YOU!
Our guide (Dennis) made everything within his power to make the experience unforgatable, huge respect for him!
The lagoon was definitely the highlight of this trip. Do the boat ride. It’s so worth it. Got up close to the ice and saw a seal! Harold was my driver and guide and was fantastic. Took us to a few extra spots as well
