Commencez votre voyage unique à Rainbow Mountain, au Pérou, en commençant tôt le matin à 05h00, alors que nous venons vous chercher à votre hôtel de Cusco. De là, un trajet pittoresque de trois heures nous attend à travers la vallée sud de Cusco, nous menant à l'accueillante communauté Hanchi Pacha du village de Pitumarca.
À votre arrivée, un somptueux petit-déjeuner traditionnel vous sera servi. Après une brève séance d'information sur la sécurité, nous nous sommes lancés dans le fascinant Rainbow Mountain Trek. Au cours des deux prochaines heures et demie, vous monterez à une altitude de 5 030 mètres (16 502 pieds), avec des vues panoramiques vous attendant au sommet. Le sentier promet des vues enchanteresses sur des paysages luxuriants, la faune locale comme les lamas et les alpagas, les communautés autochtones et les teintes vives emblématiques de la montagne. Alors que nous traversons différents villages des hautes terres andines, notre guide enrichira votre voyage avec des contes et des traditions locales.
Déjà à Rainbow Mountain, si la randonnée en haute altitude semble intimidante, il est possible de louer des chevaux au pied du sentier – n'oubliez pas de fixer un prix à l'avance. Pour ceux qui en recherchent davantage, la Vallée Rouge attire un peu plus loin, mieux explorée au cours d'une expédition de deux jours.
Après l'exploration exaltante de la montagne multicolore, une descente de deux heures nous ramènera à notre point de départ. Faites le plein avec un copieux déjeuner avant de vous ramener au cœur de Cusco, clôturant une journée pleine de souvenirs.

Although the full day excursion to the Rainbow Mountain starts at 4:30 am when you do all the walking, when the same excursion is done using quadricycles, the tour starts at 8:30 am. This makes it possible to arrive at the place, after lunch, when the bulk of the tourists have already left the place and therefore it is not necessary to line up to take the photo at the bottom viewpoint in addition to being able to appreciate the place in all its splendour. We decided to use quadricycles to climb the road because the lagoon is 5000m high and the final climb demands a lot of energy. There are two viewpoints, an upper and a lower one that allow to observe the whole colorful part of the mountain. It is a very nice place of the same style as the Hornocal de Jujuy but it looks very close.
