Our tour guide was quick and fast he helped out so much and took a ton of photos. The breakfast was a bit underwhelming but the lunch was amazing.
Well-organized—a great driver and guide. Despite the bad weather, it was worth it!
Great experience! Guided tour from our hotel. Breakfast and lunch included. Bring coins for the bathroom and small bills for photos ops. Decent amount of time to take photos and explore the time of the mountain. Guide was helpful and knowledgeable. Easy to ride ATV and they give you time to practice.
This was probably the best experience I had in my Peru trip. The guides were super friendly and knew a lot. They even went out of their way to keep taking pictures of us and asking how we were feeling (because of the altitude). Using ATVs was a wonderful decision, especially after hiking to Machu Picchu, because we were able to enjoy the views on the way to the mountain without getting shortness of breath. For me, this is a must when visiting Peru.
We had a great time! The coordination and communication were great! Luis was very patient and has such a great disposition. The whole family had a great time and the experience was definitely worth it!
We were contacted the day before the trip and arranged to meet the tour guide Lenyn in the main square. We were collected at 6am in a mini van with 12 other people. After approx 2hr drive we stopped for breakfast at a restaurant. This was included in the price of the tour and included a large selection of fruits, eggs and pastries along with cocoa tea and a small shop for goods and snacks. We then had a further 1 1/2hrs in the bus before getting to the base of the mountain. Throughout the journey Lenyn kept us informed of the plan for the day and talked about the culture during the journey. Once we arrived at the base there were toilets and a number of stalls selling local goods and snacks. We then went over to the ATV's where we were allocated either single or dual ATV's and had tuition followed by a 5 minute practice session. Once we are all comfortable we headed up the mountain (helmets are provided and compulsory). About half way up we stopped to take pictures of the glazier which was breath-taking. At the highest point you can reach by vehicle we were given free time to either do the short walk (5 mins) or to the top (20 mins). We chose to go to the top and Lenyn gave us some spray to help with altitude sickness and accompanied us throughout the journey to the top. Once at the top he took a large number of pictures of us which was lovely to have. When we were ready we all set off back to the bottom to head home. I would estimate the journey up on the ATV was around 15 minutes each way. The time allocated at the top was plenty to get up to the highest point and take in the sights. The return journey was the same except we had lunch instead of breakfast and this was a large selection of hot and salad foods. It was a long day around 11hrs in total but well worth it to get there with the stops a welcome break to stretch our legs and eat. Both Lenyn and our driver were attentive without being over bearing. I can't imagine a better way of visiting this amazing site on a tight timescale. The walk was very difficult but as a 50+ unfit person I did not feel at anytime it was something I would not be able to do.
Thank you Christian for such a good experience. Everything was smooth and relaxed.
