Cette excursion incontournable d’une journée au départ de Francfort vous emmènera dans l’une des forteresses les mieux préservées d’Allemagne, contenant des chambres impeccables, inchangées depuis des siècles. Explorez la salle de l’armurerie, les cuisines et les chambres tout en en apprenant plus sur le château à son apogée, au 12e siècle, puis détendez-vous avec un dîner dans un restaurant sur les rives du Rhin. Pour vous permettre de voir les principales attractions et de bénéficier de l’attention personnalisée de votre guide, ce tour est limité aux groupes de 14 personnes maximum.

Quittez le centre de Francfort et dirigez-vous en autocar vers les collines de la Moselle, juste au nord de Coblence. Votre destination est le château d'Eltz, une magnifique forteresse médiévale nichée au cœur d'une forêt, au sommet d'une falaise de 70 mètres. S'élevant dans la forêt comme un palais de conte de fées, le château domine la vallée d'Elzbach et ses vues seraient parmi les plus spectaculaires d'Allemagne. Après avoir voyagé pendant environ une heure et demie, descendez de votre autocar et dirigez-vous à l'intérieur du château pour découvrir ses sites clés lors d'une visite à pied. Laissé intact depuis environ 700 ans, le château d’Eltz reste meublé comme il l’a toujours été. Son intérieur est donc un plaisir à voir. Admirez les salons et les chambres à coucher, puis parcourez la somptueuse salle des armoires où sont exposés près de 500 bijoux et armes de cérémonie. Promenez-vous dans la salle de chasse ornée de tapis d'ours et écoutez les récits des serviteurs qui travaillaient autrefois dans le château tout en explorant les cuisines. Découvrez la famille Eltz qui a ordonné la construction du château au XIIe siècle et découvrez comment les différentes branches de la famille ont construit leurs propres tours à l'intérieur du château au cours des 400 années suivantes. Retournez dans votre autocar et revenez en direction de Francfort en traversant le Rhin. Arrêtez-vous dans un restaurant en bord de rivière et asseyez-vous pour savourer un dîner composé de spécialités locales et de vin (boissons à vos propres frais). Savourez le repas en regardant le soleil se coucher sur le Rhin, puis retournez à votre autocar pour votre retour à Francfort.

Beautiful sceneries, lots of history. It’ was a 2 1/2 hour drive, which was bearable as the vehicle had aircondition. The Eltz castle was very enjoyable, be prepared to climb some stairs. The included dinner was delicious, Jäger Schnitzel with all the trimmings. Our guide was exceptionally friendly and spoke perfect English. The wait at the castle was lengthy but with it.
Tour was well organized. Castle is a must see. Tour within castle is given by castle tour guide not your tour guide for the day. Willi was knowledgeable and also provided some humor as well. Schnitzel for dinner was very tasty, however you cannot actually see the sunset from within the restaurant as mentioned in the advertisement. I would recommend this tour and Willi as a tour guide.
We took this tour in the off season and were the only 2 on the trip. George was delightful and has a thorough knowledge of the history at each stop. We saw so much more than Eltz Castle driving through the beautiful German countryside and along the Rhine River. My only suggestion would be to pack some snacks if your tour leaves in the morning, as the meal is around 4 pm so you basically miss lunch.
Our tour guide, Peter, provided an outstanding explanation of the history of the castle and showed us all the rooms of the castle. Also, he stopped on the way back to ensure we get the best pictures of the castle. It was truly a great experience and I appreciated his guiding us, as a group.
George, our guide, showed us lots of extras. Taking us to overlooks, small towns and even a ride on a ferry. He was so well informed. It was the highlight of our Frankfurt visit.
Great time visiting Berg Eltz and Rhine River Valley. The area is simply stunning. Our guide was good and was able to add in a few extra stops for photos. Berg Eltz only takes about 45 mins to fully tour. It is gorgeous and very well maintained. The only negative to the trip was the van ride. The ford van was sweltering hot and extremely uncomfortable. The high temp was over 90 degrees and the ac did not cool and windows did not roll down. We felt like we were being slowly cooked. The ride was over 4 hrs, so the ride being so uncomfortable made the trip less enjoyable. Overalll nice tour and I was glad I took it.
My tour was canceled and replaced with Hohenzollern Castle. I wanted to go inside a castle so it didn't matter to me which one. The day started off foggy and drizzly but after touring the rooms and going outside, the sun started to shine. Thomas was a great guide. Friendly, very patient and let us take our time. If he hadn't been, I don't think we would have been able to see the views from the castle. It truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity and greatful for swapped tours.

Our tour guid was amazing. He was knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to. My brother and I had a wonderful time and highly recommend this one.
Unfortunately this tour was cancelled but viator replaced it with the tour to Hohenzollern Castle. It was a long day but Thomas was a good guide and took care of all arrangements. Hohenzollern Castle had lots of history as it was the ancestral home of Kaiser Wilhelm, so we really enjoyed the day.
