Paul was outstanding. We were looking for a visit to the Guggenheim and an overview of the Bilbao area and Paul delivered. The biggest bonus was the hike to Dragon Rock which we loved. Stunning views!!!
Gilles Cavalleto was out guide. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful throughout the tour. A perfect tour if visiting San Sabastian
My wife and I had a great time on the Gaztelugatxe, Bilbao and Guggenheim tour! Our guide Gilles picked us up at our Hotel then lead us to Gaztelugatxe and took is to a excellent restaurant in Bilbao for a 3 course lunch that really hit the spot after the morning climb. Highly recommend this tour!
This tour has some physically demanding parts but it is worth it! Our guide Javier was excellent and very concerned for everyone’s well-being in light of the extreme and unusually high temps in the region.
We had a solo tour with our guide Victor. He picked us up right at our hotel and drove us safely to and from every location. He also took fantastic pictures of my now fiancé and I when my boyfriend proposed in front of San Juan Gaztelugatxe. Victor didn’t know it was coming, but captured the moment perfectly and it will be something that we (and Victor) will never forget!
By bike through the city and into nature, but that was a bit misjudged. Then you really need the right bike. But cycling in San Sebastian is very doable. One adheres well to the traffic rules with respect for the cyclist. Beautiful city for the culinary taster. With a guide to Bilbao (Guggenheim) and Gaztegulatxe. The guide was an added value with his knowledge of the city. I'd say do it.
Alby was an excellent guide. The moderate hike was not at all as described. It was difficult. Given the heat, the steep grades and uneven ground, it was hard for us. Lunch was excellent and the time at the Guggenheim and in Bilbao was appropriate. Would do again. Time well spent.
It was overall a good experience to San Juan, lunch at Bilbao and the Guggenheim museum with my husband. The hike to San Juan was amazing with really nice views. Our tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. The car/van ride itself was comfortable. We were picked up by a red electrical van instead by a different vehicle and guide due to some personnel/operational issue. They were late about 15mins but was not a big deal as they were prompt to notify us before hand. Also it was a small group with only one other traveler. The only issue was that because the Van was ELECTRICAL, there were issues about potentially not being able to make the return journey. A bit of time was spent looking for a charging area. The first one did not work. Guide did assure us that our return would be taken cared of in either our charged current van or a taxi. But having paid quite a bit, almost $280 each, I don’t think this is something we should have had to worry or even hear. If the tour operator is not ready to be using electrical vehicles, then they should not be.

We did not end up taking this tour because the transportation provided at pickup was completely unacceptable. When the vehicle arrived, it was clear that the tour operator intended to fit 8 passengers into a vehicle that was far too small for a full day of driving and sightseeing. We were traveling with two elderly individuals, and there simply was not enough room for everyone to be comfortable for an all-day excursion. I also suffer from motion sickness and cannot sit in the back of a crowded vehicle for extended periods. Had we proceeded with the tour, it would have been an extremely uncomfortable experience. We paid nearly $1,000 for this booking and expected comfortable, professional transportation appropriate for a full-day tour. The vehicle provided did not meet those expectations, so we made the difficult decision not to participate. What made the situation even more frustrating was that Viator denied our refund request without providing a satisfactory explanation, despite the transportation arrangements being unsuitable for our group. Based on this experience, I would not recommend booking this tour if comfort and adequate transportation are important to you. We were very disappointed with both the tour operator’s arrangements and Viator’s handling of the situation.
