Esta excursión de medio día está repleta de algunos de los mejores lugares de interés en el Yukón! Comenzamos haciendo una parada en un mirador sobre Miles Canyon, un quid del viaje en estampida desde Alaska hasta Klondike. Desde allí nos dirigimos por la autopista South Klondike hasta el lago Esmeralda, luego al desierto de Carcross, el desierto más pequeño del mundo. Después de una rápida orientación alrededor de Carcross tendrá un poco de tiempo libre para explorar las tiendas de artesanía, o caminar por la playa en el lago Bennett. En el camino de regreso a Whitehorse hacemos una parada y Caribou Crossing para que pruebes suerte en el paneo de oro, y te puedes quedar con cualquier cosa que encuentres! Y también tienen cachorros. Pequeños cachorros mullidos husky que les encanta ser acariciados! Esta excursión de un día realmente empaca en lo mejor del Yukón, no te decepcionará!

Pararemos en el Sitio Histórico Nacional de Canadá. el S.S. Klondike Sternwheeler, y hablaremos sobre la historia de estos enormes barcos que recorrieron el río Yukon entre Whitehorse y Dawson City.
Nos detendremos en el pintoresco Lago Esmeralda con su color verde montaña. Uno de los lagos más bellos de Canadá.
Paramos en el desierto de Carcross, considerado el desierto más pequeño del mundo.
Carcross Commons es un lugar donde los artistas locales tienen la oportunidad de presentar sus productos a los visitantes. También cuenta con una acogedora cafetería y Heladería alrededor.
Nos detendremos aquí para su experiencia de búsqueda de oro. Busque oro y encuentre algunas escamas, como hicieron los antiguos buscadores de oro. También tienes la oportunidad de visitar el Museo de la Vida Silvestre, que es impresionante.

Juan was a fantastic guide snd driver. He stopped at multiple spots for taking photos. The whole experience was fantastic.
Good value. Guide was friendly, knowledgeable and allowed the trip to run at a good and comfortable pace. Some overlap with the Skagway tour where Carcross was used as a body-break/ coffee- break stop.
After watching years of Goldrush on Discovery we got to experience our own Goldrush thru Epic North with our amazing guide Juan we even met Michael Beets at a coffee shop Bonus.
Great variety of sights and things to see. Mills Channel, Emerald Lake, Carcross Desert, Carcross town, The Wilderness Centre which had the gold panning, museum and dog sled demo. Thoroughly enjoyable tour
This was a very nice trip. Becca was an excellent and knowedgeable guide, with interesting stories. The trip took us to the British Columbia border, along very nice lakes and included visits to Miles Canyon, Emerald Lake, Bennett Lake, Carcross and the Carcross desert. It ended with a gold panning experience which even netted me some gold flakes.
This is called a half day tour but it really filled most of the day. We had so much fun with our driver / tour guide Becca. She was so informative about all the stops we made. She was a great volunteer photographer for all of us. She could be a world wide guide!
Becka was lovely and adjusted the trip to our preferences. We really saw great parts of Yukon. She was on time and everything went according to schedule. I can really recommend this trip
James Major with Epic North is very knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and solicitous (I needed that as a senior!).Quick to lend an arm when I looked unsteady. Spent a week with James as our tour guide and he deserves a perfect rating! My husband, DavidO, also agrees with me and added more detail. He posted his review earlier!
On reading Pierre Berton's "Klondike The Last Great Gold Rush" years ago, I was sold on the worth of visiting Yukon's Gold Rush sites. This September, 2024 I acted on it and toured with James Major from EPIC NORTH. Then before James' tour, during a week on our own in Whitehorse, two incidents discouraged me. Whitehorse's S.S. Keno river boat site was closed with neither pamphlets nor a museum saying so. Then the museum underplayed Berton's book. That changed with James Major's arrival. From widespread locations, day after day, James spoke heartily and in his own language from Berton's book. My favorite was in Miles Canyon on the Yukon River where James spoke of goldrush prospectors fording highly dangerous rapids. Every day James authentically offered a goldrush living history.
