Recently visited to pay my respects for the fourth time. I cannot understand why they have destroyed the shock and horror factor of this place. The barracks have been altered from the original. People shuffle round in line leaving little chance to study and absorb the horrors related to the pictures and exhibits. The museum has been sanitised and turned into a morbid theme park of sorts. This was a place of reflection and homage which has in my opinion has been taken away
I contacted Private Tours Krakow owner, Christopher Skutela, and asked to have a tour arranged for 6 days, starting in Bygodszcz, Poland. We toured Torun, Wodz, Black Madonna Shrine, Sand dunes, many castles, park land, walking tour of Krakow, the Salt mines, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Ojcow National Park, Eagles Nests Castle, Zakopane and a swim in the Thermal Baths.
Great communication. They worked to secure us last min tickets. The driver was amazing and shared great historical context. Our guide inside was also amazing with his depth of knowledge about the history of WWII and the region of Poland that we were visiting.
Transportation to Auschwitz was amazing our driver Thomas was very knowledgeable and made the journey informative, interesting and stress free. The actual camp was heartbreaking but so worth the trip. Only criticism is we couldn’t understand our guide round Auschwitz as she spoke very quickly and English was quite broken- would have expected better for the amount we paid!!
Thank you dear Rebecca. We are glad we could deliver the tour for you when generally Auschwitz was very busy and overbooked. Therefore the crowds and many people want to see this place of memory and reflections. It determines strict system of operation by the Museum and Guides that Museum assign. From our side we delivered 100% the best options for you out of all unavailability there, so it was long effort and we had to try many times to make it happen for you. Thank you again for visit to this important place. You are always most welcome here Rebecca.
A sobering experience that will forever remain with me. Our tour was well organized, educational and respectful. The Museum and Memorial has done an excellent job preserving the past and helping us remember the million of Jewish and non Jewish people who perished here.
We had an excellent tour with Christopher. He was informative, personable and quite knowledgeable. He was prompt and provided a comfortable van for transportation we highly recommend this tour.
We highly recommend Christopher and his associates. Highly knowledgeable and engaging. After a tour to Auschwitz with Christopher we followed up with a Krakow walking tour the following day. Christopher also arranged airport transfers for us. All was terrific.
We arranged a private tour for six of us at short notice and Viator managed to accommodate us our driver was excellent from start to finish The minibus was spotless and his driving smooth and steady Would highly recommend the private tour
Really good company , picked up at exactly the right time , a great resourceful film about Auschwitz played on the way, very clean coach, and our driver Thomas was very kind. Our tour itself was very interesting, and we had an amazing tour guide with so much information. Definitely recommend this company.
We are so impressed with Private Tours Krakow. Christopher was our guide and he was available for all questions even before we arrived in Krakow. He gave us suggestions on restaurants and encouraged us to reach out with any questions. He responded very quickly to every question. The day of our tour came and he arrived promptly and the van was extremely comfortable and clean. There were three in our party. Christopher is VERY knowledgeable about Poland. He is also very personable and an easy conversationalist. He gave us plenty of history on Krakow. He gave us an overview of what we would see at Auschwitz and gave us tips to make the most of our experience. He was everywhere he said he would be as far as pick up/drop off. We also did the salt mines and again he told us all about them before we got there. We had a nice lunch at a restaurant he recommended. The day was just fantastic. We would use this tour group again and again without reservation.
