El Palacio Archiginnasio es uno de los edificios más importantes de Bolonia. Situada en pleno centro histórico, alberga la Biblioteca Municipal desde 1838. El Palacio fue construido por el Cardenal Borromeo entre 1562 y 1563 según un diseño del arquitecto Antonio Morandi conocido como Terribilia como sede de la Universidad.
Visitarás la famosa Sala Anatómica del palacio Archiginnasio donde podrás quedarte durante 10 minutos mientras escuchas la historia del guía. La sala, llamada Teatro por su característica forma de anfiteatro, fue diseñada en 1637 para clases de anatomía por el arquitecto boloñés Antonio Paolucci, conocido como Levanti, alumno de los Carracci.
En el primer piso del edificio se encuentran la biblioteca y las salas históricas. Normalmente no abren sin una visita guiada. Puedes admirar la habitación.

This tour was quite good. It is a fascinating place where the foundations of modern academia started. The tour guide did a good job of showing us the different aspects of the facility and what was their meaning. The anatomy room where the bodies were dissected is an absolute mind blowing place to behold. It is particularly fascinating for somebody like me who is in the field of medicine. There was really no downside to this. I do believe that if you’re in Bologna, it is a must do.
