Diego was an excellent guide and very informative. The cable car ride was scenic and horse riding was adventurous and mildly terrifying coming down the trail in the rain. I actually got kicked by a horse in my leg who was angry my horse got too close. Thankfully I was ok although the horse guide didn't give two cares that I may have been injured...I took off a star because of poor communication from the company. I didn't hear anything before the date so the evening before the excursion I messaged them twice thru Viator to confirm pick up details. Dante finally replied and said pickup was at 830. So like good little tourists we skipped our hotel breakfast which didn't start until 8am and were out there at 815. By 900 we didn't see anyone. I messaged via Whatsapp this time, and Dante replied basically my bad, it's 930 pick up. So that was pretty frustrating that I could have had my hotel breakfast and not spent an hour outside waiting for nothing. We ended up finally getting picked up at 945. In hindsight I probably would just take an Uber there and get the tickets on my own. I don't feel like the high price of this excursion is worth it unless you really need someone to hold your hand or just want some local information along the way
Dear Kandace, Thank you for sharing your experience and for your kind words about Diego. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the scenic cable car ride and the horseback riding adventure in Cotopaxi. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the pickup time. We understand how frustrating that must have been, and your feedback is valuable as we continue improving our communication and operational processes. We're also glad to know you were not seriously injured during the horseback ride, and we will certainly share your comments with our local partners to reinforce guest care and safety standards. Thank you for choosing Latin Adventures. We hope to welcome you again on another tailor-made Ecuador experience in the future. Warm regards, The Latin Adventures Team
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience on horseback up Rucu Pinchincha. I was collected promptly from my hotel. On the mountain, the guide was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. I was especially moved by his genuine love and respect of nature. What a privilege to have had this memorable adventure.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! 😊 We’re really glad you enjoyed this unique way of exploring the Andes and that everything ran smoothly from the start. Experiences like this are a special part of what we include in our Quito city tour, combining nature, culture, and unforgettable views. It’s wonderful to hear that your guide’s passion and respect for nature made such an impact on your day. We hope to welcome you again for more meaningful adventures in Ecuador! 🇪🇨
We booked this last minute excursion at 10:00 pm and our driver was there to pick us up at 7:30 am the next morning! Carlos went with us through the entire trip and provided very useful information and facts about Quito, as well as handling all the details of riding the Telefarico. We met our horse handler Lucia and we set off on horseback to a height of 5000 meters! The views were magnificent, and the horses are perfectly trained to follow the trails! I highly recommend this adventure!
This was such an amazing time my wife and I were blown away Diego was the best tour guide ever 10/10
The cable car is brilliant as is the trip to the peak and my guide Diego was a lovely chap. However the size of the ponies is not big enough for European riders. I am experienced horsewoman and not a pony patter and could feel my pony struggling in the altitude and with my weight to the point I frequently stopped and rested her and was grateful when we got off to rest them and to walk. Basically don’t do the horse riding option if you are over 5ft4 or overweight
Our guide, Diego was exceptional! Very knowledgeable and helpful. This was an experience like no other. I would highly recommend this adventure.
This tour more than exceeded my expectations. I had a smile on my face the whole ride up. You take the Teleferico up, take a short walk to the chapel to meet your horses, ride the horses up, about an hour, then it's about a 15 to 20 minute hike up to the peak. The horse ride back down is about another hour, back to the barn. You'll walk the rest of the way back to catch the cable car back down. There is a great cafe that overlooks the city, must stop in there and have a warm beverage and snack before heading back down.
We had a wonderful half day trip which included a ride to the top of the Teleférico and horseback riding with Diego. He was an expert guide and made the experience fun. Diego shared so much knowledge of the area we traveled though including Quito. Please don’t hesitate to book your excursion with Latin Adventures! We had a really great experience.
This was a really cool excursion. Did it with my mom and brother and we had a great time. Our tour guide Oscar was amazingly friendly and very knowledgeable about the country and heritage. The Tram up the mountain was really cool. Be prepared for the affects of the elevation. We drank the local Coka tea on top the mountain and it really helps with headaches and negative elevation affects. The views are amazing on-top the mountain. We jumped on our pony’s or donkeys and started up the mountain. Disclosure! although the ride isn’t fast it is steep uphill and narrow. If your afraid of heights or horse I wouldn’t do this one. Can always hike up and down mountain if you want. Overall, really fun and cool experience. Tested our limits in a good way.
Dear customer, thank you so much for your nice review. We are glad you had a great experience with us. Hope you can come back for another adventure! We will make sure you have an amazing experience!
Diego was our guide, he was great. Dante was also great, both went above and beyond. The views and experience was very memorable. 15,000ft up in the Andes is quite an experience.
