Dos formas de ver la bahía de Faxaflói: un crucero de 3,5 horas de duración o un RIB de 2,5 horas de alta velocidad: las mismas ballenas, un paseo diferente. Ambos parten del puerto viejo de Reikiavik, donde su guía lo equipa con un cálido mono y prepara el escenario antes de salir del muelle. En la bahía, está buscando ballenas minke y jorobadas, delfines de pico blanco y marsopas, con hasta un 90% de éxito en el avistamiento. It is never guaranteed to see whales; we were lucky to see some humpback whales, although not as close as one dreams of, but at a certain distance. One should pay attention to seagulls.

Great close up view of humpback whales and dolphins in the bay. Our family had an amazing experience and even the 5 year old was able to see everything. The boat was not overcrowded with plenty of room to move around and every passenger was easily able to see from any point on the boat. Guides were super friendly and well knowledgeable. We stopped to view two whales when all of a sudden a humpback came right below our boat. We were within 10-15 yards. Amazing experience and would do again.

We had two different whale contacts, one Mink and one Humpback. The humpback did show off with some quite impressive jumps, which we managed to record on camera. I do not think we could ask for much more.
