Booked this for our last day in Reykjavik with shuttle included. We were picked up for Bus Stop No. 9 at 11.30 and taken to the Lagoon, it's a short 15 minute ride. The lagoon is very luxurious when you walk in and the staff are super friendly. We booked the Saman passes and checked in, which is easy, you get your wrist band and are shown to the changing rooms. I also managed to get a power pack for my phone whilst I was there, which is free of charge! We went into the changing rooms and they are communal (in the Saman part, there are no private changing rooms! But are women only. Whether it's the British in us, I don't know, but we went into the toilets to change!) Once changed, you have lockers, fresh towels all the way throughout the spa and you can leave your flip flops/robes in a rack prior to entering the lagoon. You then start by having a shower (products provided in the showers) and pootle into the lagoon, which is hot! The entrance is lovely and you swim out into the infinity pool where there are rocks with seats, waterfalls and an amazing view. You can stay as long as you like in the lagoon, then take the plunge into the cold water, beautiful sauna (very hot and I skipped that, I sat waiting in the salty skin scrub room with a lovely draft waiting for my friend), she was basking in it and came out after 15 minutes admiring the view from the sauna! Then you wander into the skin scrub where you get a small bowl of scrub and cover yourself in it. There is the turkish bath which was hot and steamy (I skipped this and waiting in the shower room), my friend also embraced this and lay in there for around 15 minutes. You then shower and feel amazing! You then get what was a cold thirst quenching strawberry drink which was lovely. All along the way, you can get fresh towels and plenty of water is available. You can then spend time in the lagoon, get drinks from the swim up bar and just take in the views. We thoroughly enjoyed it and spent around 3.5 hours here. It was quite busy, but it's a small lagoon compared to the blue lagoon. We got dressed and dried hair in the communal changing rooms. (Those European's waltz around naked without a care in the world, be prepared! Haha) Then we sat in the beautiful cafe and had coffee. It's very relaxing and a lovely place. All in all, a great afternoon. I know I didn't participate in a couple of steps, but I still enjoyed it and felt very relaxed through the whole process. We personally agreed that we preferred the Blue Lagoon as it was more fun and less 'Spa Like' and you get a free drink, changing rooms and you can spin your costumes in the basic package. Both different experiences, so you decide and it isn't much more for the Ser package which is probably worth doing. We then got on the shuttle bus and he dropped us at the Harbour ready for our whale watching tour! Staff were all so friendly too.
The experience at Sky Lagoon was a highlight of our trip to Iceland. We much preferred it to Blue Lagoon which we visited on our first day of the trip. Sky Lagoon was the last day and it was the best way to end our vacation. The facilities are aesthetically pleasing, clean, and accommodating. The infinity pool was lovely, the cold plunge was COLD and the 7 step ritual was heavenly. We did the Ser package. The breakfast was good and the changing room was very nice with lots of lockers. The only missing was a bathing suit dryer which which they had at Blue Lagoon and Vok Baths. Sky Lagoon would be my first choice if you have to pick one place to soak.
Hi there joyfulfrog, thank you for taking the time to review your Sky Lagoon journey. We're thrilled to hear that your visit was a highlight of your trip to Iceland and that it provided such a memorable way to end your vacation. It means a great deal to us that you enjoyed the breathtaking infinity lagoon, the invigorating cold plunge, our signature Skjól Ritual, and the comfort of the Ser package. We're also delighted that you found our facilities clean, beautiful, and welcoming, and that you enjoyed breakfast during your visit. Thank you as well for your thoughtful suggestion regarding a bathing suit dryer. We'll be sure to share it with our team as we continuously look for ways to enhance the guest experience. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for another relaxing visit in the future,
Verry relaxing 7 step ritual. Large lagoon with warm water, sauna. Steam room, cool mist etc. Nice experience with partner. Highly reccommend.
Very good way to begin our tour after long overnight flight. Very relaxing . Would recommend highly even the cold plunge.
A wonderful location and a great amenity. Staff were extremely welcoming and informative. The lagoon is just stunning. The changing rooms and storage first class. The swim up bar a great addition and the ritual well worth the cost. If you are in Iceland a must visit.
We loved our experience, the building and the facility itself is so beautiful!! The staff were so kind, especially when we had to change our reservation due to flight problems, they were so understanding and we appreciated it so much. This was such a great pick and I’m glad we chose sky lagoon!!!
Like nothing I have ever experienced before. There is no time limit for how long you can stay so book early and stay all day! The views are stunning the water is nice and warm and crystal clear with lots of rocks to sit on to relax
Loved 😍 the thermal spa. The infinity setting and swim up bar did not disappoint. Terribly relaxing. I had the best time. I even bought some scrub for home. The islandic martini and ham and cheese were yummy.
Hi there Safari59620201778, thank you for taking the time to write so kindly about your Sky Lagoon journey. We sincerely appreciate it and hope that we get to welcome you again someday!
No matter if it’s your first time in Iceland or you are a returning traveler this is a “must-do” for the list. I booked this the morning of our visit which was fabulous since I did not need to have a reservation months in advance. We spent hours relaxing and enjoying the 7-step ritual. Even my husband who isn’t one for a “spa” day is excited to come back. This was a great day for some downtime after several days of sightseeing. Highly recommend!
Hi there laurahM6799OT, thank you for taking the time to write about your Sky Lagoon journey. We’re really glad to hear that your visit worked out so well, even with a same-day booking, and that you were able to spend a few relaxing hours enjoying the Skjól ritual. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again on your next visit to Iceland.
This is the second time I have been to the Sky Lagoon. Two years ago, I was there in November, and this year in June. Both times we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the six-step ritual. As a matter of fact, each time we arrived in Iceland, the Sky Lagoon was the first place we visited. The lagoon and its six-step ritual are so invigorating that we had no problem staying up late, despite jet lag.
