En la excursión por la costa sur y la laguna del glaciar pasará el día disfrutando de primera mano de la estimulante diversidad del paisaje islandés. Desde las vistas del glaciar Vatnajokull, las cataratas de Skogafoss y Seljalandsfoss hasta los brillantes trozos de hielo que se encuentran en la playa Diamond Beach en la laguna del glaciar Jokulsarlon. De camino a la laguna del glaciar, pasará por la región de la costa sur de Islandia, una tierra de magníficas cascadas, sorprendentes arenas negras, enormes glaciares y volcanes intercalados con granjas. Contemplará unas vistas inolvidables de la zona natural de Skaftafell en el Parque Nacional de Vatnajokull y pasará por la hermosa extensión de arena negra de Skeidararsandur. Justo antes de llegar a la laguna también podrá disfrutar de una vista del volcán activo más grande de Islandia, Oraefajokull.

El volcán más famoso de Islandia es sin duda Eyjafjallajökull, que entró en erupción en 2010 y causó interrupciones en los vuelos por toda Europa durante varias semanas.
En el camino de regreso de la visita a la laguna del glaciar, hará una parada en una de las cascadas más singulares de Islandia, Seljalandsfoss. Lo que hace que esta cascada sea tan especial es el sendero que hay detrás y que, cuando las condiciones meteorológicas lo permiten, ofrece una perspectiva totalmente nueva.
Antes de llegar a la laguna glaciar Jokulsarlon, hará una parada en Skogafoss, una impresionante cascada que permite acceder a las magníficas vistas desde debajo y desde arriba a través de una escalera.

El glaciar Vatnajokull es enorme, cubre 14.000 km2 y es Breidamerkurjokull, una de las muchas secciones de este gran glaciar, que crea la mágica laguna glaciar Jokulsarlon. Desde allí es fácil caminar hasta la Playa del Diamante, donde se pueden ver icebergs que han llegado a la playa de arena negra, brillando en el sol como joyas.
Durante la parada programada en Jökulsárlón, te recomendamos visitar la Playa Diamante, que se encuentra a solo unos minutos a pie, para ver impresionantes icebergs esparcidos por la playa de arena negra.
Tendrá unas vistas inolvidables de la naturaleza de Skaftafell en el Parque nacional de Vatnajökull.
Viaje por carretera a través de la asombrosa extensión de arena negra de Skeidararsandur.

The Glacier Lagoon is stunning. On the way there and back we visited a couple of stunning waterfalls. Our guide Lasma was so knowledgeable. It is a long day but you see so much of Icelands stunning countryside.

I had taken this tour three days prior, it was absolutely amazing! When I received the email confirmation, it explained for a 730 excursion. Waiting for the tour bus from 719 until 815 I called. They explained to me the excursion started at 7:30, but they stopped by to pick me up at 7 AM. I have been downstairs having breakfast and missed the bus! Truly a disappointment!! The main goal for this trip was to see the diamond Beach, that was the main part of this excursion. Thankfully, I had taken a previous excursion to win the diamond beach, but the weather was a little crappy. This day, the weather was beautiful, and I’m sure they had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, I missed out! I’m not pointing fingers, but I wish it would’ve been clearer on the email they sent to be in the lobby at seven and not 730. If you booked this trip, make sure you know what time they’re going to pick you up.

Be aware of tour start time. My ticket from Viator stated tour starts at 8:00 am and be at pickup location at 7:30 am. We arrived at 7:25 am and waited for 50 minutes with several other tour buses coming and going. I called the actual tour company to inquire about our tour only to find out that it actually started at 7:30 am and we should have been at the pickup location at 7:00 am. The bus left without us. I sent requested screenshots of the Viator ticket to the tour company so they can address it with Viator. I requested a refund from Viator explaining what happened. Viator did refund the entire amount within a couple of hours. Unfortunately, I can’t comment on the tour itself. This was our last day and we were unable to book for another day. This was NO fault of the tour company.

We had two of the most experienced and wonderful people to take care of us. Chris our guide was great, keeping us informed and making sure we were doing great! Robert , our driver took us safely for 14 hours through some of the most challenging wind storms I’ve ever been through!! Bravo!! Great tour

It is a thankful tour by the Chief who has gone over 800km. This tour takes at least eight hours away, so if you have a dry photo during the bus ride, it should be taken immediately. It's a great view because it doesn't stop. This part is so bad. It's unfortunate to understand a hundred times because of the tour time. Toilets and meals, rather often stop for shopping. Don't even ignore the money you need to spend at least to sit in the restaurant. The tour guide (Gunnar) is very knowledgeable and explains a lot on the bus, so the journey will be boring because it's long on the bus, but sometimes it seems boring for others. In other comments I saw a lot that we were going to see Aurora for the last time, but we didn't hear about Aurora, and there was no stop on the way home. As a result felt like a journey to the Diamond Beach. Of course, the nature of Iceland is indescribably beautiful. But it feels like it's just the price of oil and the cost of driving. If I had a glacier hiking tour I would also like to.

Overall incredible experience which was coordinated well and delivered on both the lagoon and diamond beach, providing an unforgettable experience.
