Beautiful tour of ancient Mayan ruins and floating down the mangroves in Sian Kaan, great experience.
Amazing experience with Ursula and Aurelio. Both so knowledgeable and fun, the biosphere was so peaceful & the water was warm and felt so nice!
What a lovely description of your day—thank you for sharing it! The biosphere has a special way of helping visitors slow down and connect with nature, and we're so happy you were able to enjoy its peaceful beauty. Ursula and Aurelio make a wonderful team, and it's great to hear that their knowledge and energy added so much to the experience. There’s nothing quite like spending time in those warm, crystal-clear waters surrounded by such incredible scenery. We appreciate your kind words and are delighted that this adventure left such a positive impression.

This is two different excursions in one. Starting at the historical museum and Tulum ruins, there was a lot of info on early Mayans and culture, which was both informative but a little slow for my taste. Then, we mostly walked the ruins on our own with very little history on the construction and life there - it was very warm, but interesting. Afterward, we lunched in town and headed to the lagoons, where we were boated across 2 lagoons to a “lazy river” where we all got out, turned our life jackets upside down, and floated down the current. This was the highlight of the trip for sure, but I felt the instructions on TA were too light and unclear on this. Others had been instructed to bring waterproof cell phone covers, full changes of clothes, watershoes, etc. So, do bring all this stuff; you will have a chance to change in and out of bathing suits before and after the boat/float, so you don’t have to walk around the ruins in your suit if you don’t want. We still had a fun time, but with a clearer understanding of the overall logistics of this excursion it would be great.
Thank you for your honest and detailed feedback! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the overall experience, especially the lagoon and lazy river, which is truly a unique highlight. We also appreciate your comments regarding the pacing and the information provided, as well as the suggestions about what to bring—this is very valuable for us to keep improving both communication and logistics. Thank you again for joining us and for sharing your insights!
Excellent service and very friendly all
¡Muchas gracias por tu comentario! Nos alegra saber que disfrutaste del servicio y del trato de nuestro equipo. ¡Esperamos recibirte nuevamente muy pronto!
Our tour guide Josefina and driver Armando were fabulous. While not a private tour, it almost felt like one given that the group was only the four of us and one other couple. Josefina is very good at what she does and beyond explaining what was in front of us had an iPad she'd whip out to show pictures of how the Mayan sites would have appeared when originally constructed, in addition to pictures of different plants and animals we might encounter. She brought some homemade snacks that she shared in the van between sites - the cacao beans with local honey were a real treat. The combination of the Mayan site tour and boat ride/lazy river float made for a great day, and we had delicious tacos at the end to cap it off. We enjoyed Josefina's company very much and Armando was a swift and safe driver, navigating sometimes dicey roads with ease and keeping watch over our stuff in the van while we wandered away.
Thank you for such a lovely and detailed review! It’s great to hear that the small group made the experience feel more personal. Josefina will be so happy to know you appreciated the way she brings history and nature to life with those visual aids and thoughtful touches like the homemade snacks. We’re also glad Armando helped make the journey comfortable and smooth. It sounds like a truly well-rounded day—thank you for sharing it with us!
Pick up was right on time . Carlos was very informative about Mayan history and culture. The tour was excellent, with the highlight floating on the "lazy river" . I would highly recommend this tour .
Thank you for your feedback! We’re happy to hear everything started smoothly with the pickup and that you enjoyed learning about Mayan history with Carlos. And we agree—the lazy river is definitely a highlight! We appreciate your recommendation.
This tour was awesome. The Tulum Ruins were really cool, and Paloma was a great guide—super fun and did a great job explaining everything. The lazy river in Muyil was the highlight, such a unique experience floating through the mangroves. The tacos at the end were a perfect finish. Definitely recommend, especially if you get Paloma.
Thank you for your great review! We’re glad you enjoyed the mix of history and nature on this tour. Paloma will be happy to hear you had fun exploring the ruins with her. And yes—the float through the mangroves in Muyil is something truly special! Ending the day with tacos is always a good idea too 😊 Thanks for recommending us!
We did not get to go on the tour we originally booked. The tour company changed the tour once, then day before the changed the tour again. And then the day we took the tour it was too windy to snorkel out on the reef. So even the promised upgraded tour was mostly a day on a boat with a short stop to swim. One of the guides seemed pleased to be doing the tour, she was upbeat and shared a lot of information with her group. Our guide seemed liked he got forced to work on his day off. We did find the boat tour in the Sian Ka'an Unesco World Heritage site breathtaking and seeing birds, marine wildlife and the mangroves was amazing. I am thankful I was able to be placed on a tour but was left feeling like I was just an inconvenience to the company and they just didn't want to lose out on our money. So, overall I was disappointed that they couldn't fulfill the tour I requested and would have appreciated a candid "sorry we can't do the tour" early enough that I have found another company who could have.
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We are truly sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially regarding the changes to your original tour and the last-minute adjustments. We understand how frustrating this must have been, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Weather conditions, particularly wind in the reef area, can sometimes force us to adapt itineraries for safety reasons. However, we completely understand your point about communication, and we regret that we did not provide clearer and earlier transparency so you could make an informed decision. We are glad to hear that you still enjoyed the beauty of the Sian Ka’an biosphere, including the wildlife, mangroves, and overall boat experience. We also appreciate your comments about the guides — we will be addressing this internally to ensure a consistently positive and engaging experience for all our guests. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, and it highlights areas where we must improve, especially in communication and overall guest experience. We truly hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future.
