Museo del Cine Girona - Entrada

Descripción
The Tomàs Mallol Cinema-Collection Museum is a permanent, non-profit institution, open to the public as a space for scientific, cultural and recreational participation of citizens, and at the service of society and its development. Its origin is found in the acquisition of the Tomás Mallol Collection of cinematographic and precinematographic objects by the City of Girona on January 28, 1994. Its mission is to favor the understanding and knowledge of the history of the moving image and of the cinema through the conservation, investigation, interpretation and exhibition of various collections, whose objects explain how the images were represented before the cinema and what was the technical process that led to the invention of the cinematograph in 1895.

Excellent museum illustrating the history of cinematography with lots of displays and hands on exhibits. Interesting for all ages and a reasonable 7 euro entry fee for adults. We spent a good hour here.
It is not just about cinema; it is also about the beginning of photography and moving images. All the topics discussed with explanations and especially the equipment.
Absolutely amazing museum with a vast collection donated by Tomas Mallol I believe, and dates back several centuries in its ability to tell the full story of cinema and photography. We spent a few hours viewing this very interesting collection with the help of an audio guide downloaded to our phones at the front desk. Admission was €7 or €3.50 for over 65s. Well worth a visit and a must for photographic fans. For food try the restaurant across the square La Taverna for great tapas and mains.
Excellent presentation depicting prominent figures in cinema, showing the large number of Jews who invested in this segment.
Brilliant place to visit - learnt so much about the history of cinema. If you are a film buff it’s a place you have to go to when visiting Girona.
Museum really very nice, attention to detail. The visit begins with a short introductory film. Friendly staff.
Packed with information on how humans have been creative in capturing light and frames. Many interactive elements. From medieval times to 1970s or so. We spent a bit more than 2h, but our teen is also theater student so inherently interested in these things. Tour starts with short movie capturing the essence of what you are about to see and the humans fascination with cinema. Fantastic experience overall.
Inaugurated in 1998 inside the former casa de les Aigues, it exhibits the Tomas Mallol collection on three floors, it offers to travel through five centuries of image history, the beginnings of seventh art to the arrival of television, interactive and fun at the same time, unavoidable, a card for five museums with a discount half price not to be missed. Low price
Interactive and beautiful experience. Retrace the entire history of cinema and you can see incredible historical artifacts. For film fans super recommended!
Passing by the sign, I decided to take a look and it is without regret! The museum is really complete is interesting for film connoisseurs as well as for a general audience, the animations are well done and we do not see the past time. Beautiful objects are on display and the Audio Guide is directly included in the Award. The Award of the visit which is very low is profitable from the first floor (and there are 3!). I strongly recommend this museum for future travelers to this city!
