The hike was challenging but short, and the view of the sunrise over the lake was beautiful and very worth it. However, I wouldn’t recommend this tour operator. I was picked up 10 minutes late from my selected pick up point, and then shortly after getting onto the bus, I was told to move to a different bus behind us with no explanation. This made me feel uncomfortable as a solo traveler and I’m pretty sure it was with a different tour agency. After the hike, I was dropped off in downtown San Pedro, not my original pick up spot, and wasn’t given the free breakfast that was included in the tour.
awesome experience. small group and we made the summit before everyone except the people that camped there. breakfast after was fantastic
I did this tour while solo traveling and had a great experience. Our tour guide Juan was very accommodating and friendly and lead an amazing tour.
DO NOT BOOK this company is a scam. They quite literally ghosted me on the morning of pick up after no showing and replied days later when Viator made them refund me. Please be warned. They will probably reply back to this with some bs like they have with others, do not believe them.
Easy pickup despite me scheduling last second, contacted via WhatsApp. Easy hike if you are fairly fit, about an hour up. Very cold at the top, so need layers. Given bread and option of coffee or hot chocolate at the top. Beautiful, good guide.
We were picked up on time and taken to the start of the hike. Both our driver and guide were friendly and spoke English. The hike up was relatively easy, we took multiple short stops along the way. Once at the top we were seated and provided with either hot chocolate or coffee while waiting for the sunrise. It was beautiful!!!! Worth the 4am departure. The way down was quick and easy. Breakfast was optional, if you took it you would have had to find your own way back to your hotel. We opted to not have it and take the ride. Overall a great experience.
Never Turned Up, after waiting at the meeting point for 30 minutes. Tried contacting via whatsapp but no response. Complete scam
Dear customer, We truly appreciate all reviews and feedback. However, in this case we would like to clarify the situation regarding the issue mentioned. We contacted you one day prior to the tour via WhatsApp, and we also attempted to call you, but we did not receive any response. We made every effort to arrange your pickup and have records of our communication attempts. Unfortunately, we were not able to pick you up because we did not receive the exact address or meeting location details from you, and we did not get a reply to confirm the information. We always do our best to coordinate properly with our clients and ensure a smooth experience. We regret that this situation occurred and hope for your understanding.
Xuan did an amazing job guiding us through this hike. Xuan was very patient and friendly. The view was worth it. I would bring headlamp and hiking sticks if needed as it is pretty dark. Overall, would recommend!!
Juan, our guide, was amazing! Couldn’t have asked for a better guide. The only reason I’m giving four stars is that I was not aware that it’s dangerous to walk in San Pedro at night because of the dogs. I understand that the company only has certain pick up spots, but since we were only five people, a pick up closer to my hotel would have been preferred. Or if that is not possible, at least some resources on how to get to the spot at 4 am.
Sadly I experienced a very rude staff member when contacting via WhatsApp to arrange pick up. The hike itself was great though
