La laguna de Quilotoa es un hermoso lugar en Ecuador que debes visitar. El paisaje es asombroso. La caldera se formó por el colapso de un volcán después de una erupción catastrófica hace unos 600 años. Podemos bajar a caminar, hacer kayac y regresar en mula, es una experiencia increíble.

Quito, una ciudad capital en lo alto de los Andes, está situada dramáticamente, apretada entre picos de montañas cuya vegetación está oculta por la niebla de la tarde. Modernos edificios de apartamentos y modestas casas de concreto se arrastran por las laderas, y las concurridas calles comerciales bordeadas de tiendas y ahogadas por el tráfico se convierten en vecindarios tranquilos los domingos. Cálida y relajada, la cultura tradicional de la Sierra ecuatoriana (puestos de mercado desbordantes, curanderos chamánicos, sombrereros de cuarta generación) se mezcla con una vibrante y sofisticada escena culinaria y nocturna. Cuando te paras frente a esta montaña, a tu derecha está el norte, a tu izquierda está el sur, Quito tiene 64 km de largo y 4 km de pulgada, comenzando desde este volcán activo.
Lugar que la gente usa para descansar, comer. Nombre quechua Tambo. esta es pequeña, llamada Tambillo
Vamos a ver algunos barrios importantes de Quito, mientras salimos de la ciudad, también el contraste entre la parte norte y sur de la ciudad, luego podemos ver cómo la Cordillera de Los Andes se divide en dos líneas, y las montañas más importantes. y los cultivos de nieve aparecerán en el camino, para mostrarnos una vista increíble, por ejemplo Pichincha, Atacazo, Corazón, Ilinizas, Cayambe, Antisana, Sincholagua, Rumiñahui y Cotopaxi. Si no desayunaste, podemos parar a comer, puede ser en Tambillo o Machachi. Continúa nuestro viaje, las montañas se acercan y vamos a tener algunas paradas para tus fotos YEIH .. Continuamos hacia la provincia de Cotopaxi, cruzamos el Parque Nacional por la Carretera Panamericana hasta Pujili.
Esta pequeña ciudad es famosa por pinturas que los indígenas hacen con piel de cordero y máscaras de madera. lo que más te guste pide un mejor precio.
Hay un pueblo indígena que cruza el camino de la ciudad de Latacunga a La Mana. Aquí podemos encontrar algunos lugares para parar y probar maíz, beens, plátanos o carne de cerdo frita. Continúe hacia la derecha en 20 minutos y llegaremos a la laguna de Quilotoa.
Quilotoa es una caldera llena de agua y el volcán más occidental de los Andes ecuatorianos.

We had the opportunity to visit Quilotoa Lake! The cherry on the cake of the trip. We had the opportunity to visit local craft shops and the food was delicious here. Do not miss the opportunity and take this trip, you'll thank me later.

We had an amazing time going to Quilotoa with Felipe. It was just our family of 4 and him on a private tour. We got started early and he took us to a great breakfast place on the way. We also stopped to see some of the artwork of the indigenous people. It was quite stunning. Felipe had been recommending Quilotoa to us, and it was breathtaking. We walked down to the lake (bring good walking shoes) and rode horses back up. There are lots of photo ops on the way. Afterwards, we stopped at a local place for a nice lunch. On the way back to the hotel, Felipe kept showing us different attractions that he didn’t want us to miss. He is quite generous with his time and very passionate about Quito. Even though the ride was about three hours in each direction, it definitely didn’t feel that long and I would highly recommend going to see the crater with Felipe. We also visited the Middle of the Earth with him on a different day, and he was our airport transportation as well. I highly recommend Felipe for all of your transportation and tour needs in Quito.
The tour was great! Felipe picked us up in the morning and took us for a very nice breakfast. We continued towards Quilotoa via Tigua and on the the way Felipe explained both the area's culture and history as well as the vegetation and geography to us. He pointed out interesting sites and in general was giving us interesting information during the entire drive (but made sure to pause when one of us had fallen asleep!). He also gave us good tips for the remainder of our stay in Quito. He also balanced the time spent having ab ice cream or lunch with more strenuous activities.
The panoramic view of the lagoon is amazing. A tip for future travelers is to wear light but warm clothes. The guide knows the place very well and perfect places fot photos, also, the guide manages groups with children very well and he knows strategic sites for meal.
Take this tour to Lake Quilotoa, it was an exceptional experience, the guide had a lot of experience, the very quiet trip and the excellent food there was a lot of variety, I knew spectacular places. I totally recommend this trip with Felipe as a guide.
Excelent sightseeing of the lagoon with great explanations, comfortable and safe travel from Quito. Totally recommended.
