Este tour cultural de día completo comienza con una visita a un mercado indígena local en Saquilisilí o una iglesia histórica en Pujilí (jueves / domingo). El viaje a Laguna Quilotoa muestra una hermosa vista de las montañas andinas, pasando por el antiguo cañón de Zumbahua y muchos pueblos indígenas y tierras de cultivo. Antes de llegar a Quilotoa visitaremos una increíble galería local en Tigua, donde tendremos una pequeña clase de pintura para aprender sobre las técnicas ancestrales en este encantador pueblo. El recorrido incluye una caminata hacia la Laguna Quilotoa, un lago esmeralda brillante dentro del cráter del volcán inactivo. Itinerario
Visitaremos la laguna de Quilotoa, una de las lagunas volcánicas más hermosas del planeta. La característica más significativa de esta laguna, con una profundidad de 250 metros, son sus aguas verde turquesa. El Quilotoa es el volcán más occidental de los Andes ecuatorianos, dentro de su cráter se ha formado una caldera con un diámetro de casi 9 km. Caminaremos hacia abajo para apreciar cómo los minerales le han dado a la superficie un tono verdoso y azulado cuando es golpeada por la luz solar. En el interior, hay manantiales que, desde la orilla, se pueden ver como senderos burbujeantes que suben a la superficie.
Visitaremos el tradicional pueblo de Tigua, donde los artistas siempre se han destacado por decorar máscaras y tambores para sus fiestas con precisión y colores vibrantes. Sus manos talentosas crean una extravagancia de color y belleza que va más allá de lo que se esperaría de los artistas autodidactas. Una vez aquí tendrás una lección de pintura con la técnica ancestral de pintar sobre una piel de oveja. Te llevarás tu creación como recuerdo para recordar esta experiencia poco convencional.
Visitaremos el mirador del Cañón de Toachi, un gran accidente geográfico en forma de gigantesco barranco que atraviesa en parte la reserva y es visible desde un mirador natural en las cercanías de Sigchos. Este accidente geográfico cuenta con un mirador para apreciar su hermoso paisaje en cuyo profundo interior discurre el río Toachi, principal eje hidrográfico de la Zona.

Jeannin was an amazing guide! The drive to the highlands was gorgeous and Quilotoa Crater Lake was breathtaking! We recommend hiking boots and hiking sticks to assist with the footing, which can be challenging because it is steep. We would definitely do this trip with Jen again!
We had a great trip with Manuel, on July 3, 2023. Manuel was very knowledgeable about the area, about Quito, and Ecuador. We enjoyed getting to know him. The private tour gave us great flexibility, which was helpful because we were still acclimatizing to the altitude.

Excellent pre-trip organization, detailed information about what we should take, meeting points, I could see that if they were complied with biosecurity protocols every time we got on the transport such as: disinfection of shoes before entering, temperature taking, disinfection of clothes, alcohol for hands and that we all wear masks inside and outside the bus. Very good guide with a lot of knowledge of the environment, knows the route and the locality very well. I would definitely travel with Inspiring Ecuador again. I recommend it.
