Outstanding tour! Each vendor was knowledgeable and passionate about their work. Highly recommended!
The trip was great from start to finish. We were picked up at our hotel in central Bologna and taken by a friendly driver to each of the locations listed on the tour. Each one was incredible. The tours were informative, the hosts all very friendly and knowledgeable, and the tastings were great. The highlight for me was the final tasting and lunch at Prosciuttificio Leonardi Srl - a HUGE board of meats, delicious pasta, and some dessert. We also bought and brought home a bottle of balsamic from Acetaia Pedroni. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get the best of what Emilia-Romagna has to offer!
Mariano_V, Sep 2025 The private tour from Bologna to three separate places to discover the making of parmigiano reggiano cheese, the making of balsamic vinegar and the production of prosciutto was a great experience. All the people at the different places were very knowledgeable and nice. Tastings overall were excellent. Lunch at the prosciutto place was amazing. Hand made pasta and table of cured meats delicious. You should try the prosciutto with truffle (Pino’s) creation. The Lambrusco wine was also amazing. After the tour I can differentiate a good balsamic from a commercial one. Tradizionale balsamic is expensive but after learning about the process it is worth spending that little extra for a DOP balsamic vinegar. Unfortunately Canada doesn’t allow to bring cold cuts into the country otherwise we would have bought a selection of what we ate at lunch. Also our driver was safe and provided good service.
Expect to eat! And eat great food and word of advice the prices you will see for the cheese, balsamic vinegar, and prosciutto are the best you will find anywhere. My only regret is not buying more ! For sure best trip of the vacation.
We spent a full day experiencing the pride of Bologna’s food industry: the production of Parmesano cheese, aged balsamic vinegar and cured meats such as prosciutto & mortadella. The 3-course lunch of pasta dish, then cured meats, and dessert was fabulous! Our driver, Marco was very courteous.
All three destinations where phenomenal. The end of the trip at the prosciutto tour ended with the most fantastic lunch we have had hosted by Gary and Valentina.
We are glad that you've enjoyed the tour! Thanks for your review!
Learning how cheese, vinaigrette, and prosciutto are made. Place was good except for the cheese tour was a bit crowded. We booked a private tour and assume all tours are private but the cheese one was with another group of 4 people so a bit hard to hear the guide on the tour. The other two are private and much better. Lunch was marvellous.
We are glad that you've enjoyed the tour! Thanks for your review!
What an amazing day! Our driver was so courteous. It isn’t cheap, but the memories of the day will be with us forever.

Cheese tour, balsamic vinegar tour and Prosciutto tour were five star. All the tour guides were excellent. Gary the owner of Prosciutto factory is the best.

This was an awesome day! Our driver, Marco, was exceptional! He was on time, friendly, and professional! The car was very clean and cared for! The first stop was in Parma at a lovely parmesan cheese manufacturing farm. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the tour itself was very interesting, fun, & educational. The next stop was at the Acetaia Gambigliani Balsamic estate. The history of the family who owns, runs, and lives on the estate was a special touch. We were even able to meet and converse with Georgio Gambigliani. He visited each table to thank his guests for visiting their balsamic estate. He is definitely personable! Our last stop was at Salumi Leonardi & Cairdullo. Gary, the son of the owner who now runs the show was so sweet and fun. He offered so much knowledge and made the end of the day a joy! Thanks for a wonderful tour! It was well worth the money!
