Quito se toma muy en serio su papel en el centro del mundo con un casco antiguo en el sur de la ciudad también conocido como el Centro Histórico o Colonial Quito. En una zona compacta encontrará muchas iglesias ornamentadas, calles atractivas llenas de buenos ejemplos de casas y plazas coloniales. Con respecto a Mitad del Mundo, que es el verdadero centro del ecuador situado a unos 20 km al norte de la capital, ¿a quién no le gustaría tener una foto mientras está de pie con cada pierna en un hemisferio diferente?

Itinerario
Quito tiene el centro histórico mejor conservado de América Latina. Esta excursión de un día incluye la visita a la parte antigua de Quito, tales como plazas, iglesias, calles antiguas, etc. La primera parada será en la Iglesia Basílica, desde donde tendrá una hermosa vista del Centro Colonial de Quito. Después de caminar por las calles coloniales, se detendrá en la Plaza de la Independencia para admirar la Catedral y el Palacio de Gobierno. La Catedral, Iglesia de la Compañía muy conocida como la Iglesia del Oro, Iglesia del Sagrario y San Francisco. Finalmente, dirígete a la colina más famosa de Quito, el mirador Panecillo, donde notarás el contraste entre la ciudad colonial y la moderna.
Por la tarde continuamos hacia la mitad del mundo, donde tenemos la oportunidad de visitar el museo Intiñan, a solo 200 metros al norte del monumento Mitad del Mundo, aquí está la marcada "La Mitad del Mundo". Este museo muestra lo que es hoy en día. El GPS ha demostrado ser el verdadero sitio de la línea ecuatorial. Por la tarde finalmente regreso al hotel.

A very educational day. Our guide shared a lot of history about the French Geodesic Mission and why this spot is so important to Ecuador. We also had a great lunch at a local spot nearby,the traditional food was delicious.
Daysi picked me up from the airport, took me to an amazing breakfast place, to Intinan museum which is the Real ecuator not Mitad, enroute picked up a fruit which I had mentioned we also had in India and was my favourite fruit while I had dozed off, took me to Puhlulahua crater where she actually used to be an intern, then to the teleferico where she bought me a coca tea while I was in the loo because she saw me struggle with the altitude, took me to multiple shops to get the esim I needed, then took me around the old city, drove me around than walk because I was tired, when we got delayed due to traffic jams and parking issue, and told me that since it's late in the evening, if there was any trouble, that she would fight while I should run for it. Nothing happened of course. But she went above and beyond, she was a friend not just a tour guide. It's rare to see someone doing the job they exactly were born and trained for.

Highly recommend this tour - great communication, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, and all around amazing experience and perfect for a single day in Quito. Booked this tour at the very last minute (7am!) for the same day, and had a response by 7:45am. My tour guide Raul met me at my hotel front door right at 9am. Raul was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable, and had so much information about the history of Quito and Ecuador. He was flexible with timing, and happy to point out a few free extra things we happened to walk by and see were open. The tour was not rushed at all, and Raul was a perfect host! We met up with Elias our driver to get to Mitad del Mundo, and he was friendly and a considerate driver. Raul wasn’t able to accompany me to that part of the tour, but he gave great recommendations and instructions on what to do and see there, and it was very easy to follow. Elias waited while I toured the monument and then brought me safely back to my hotel. It was a great day, and I truly felt taken care of on this tour. Once again, highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic guided tour with great local recommendations.
