Met all our requirements, close to the marina. Good in room amenities and friendly, helpful staff as expected. Bonus is really nice public space on the ground floor which are very comfortable to hang out on after checkout and a good bar/restaurant in the hotel. It’s a short walk to downtown, if you have time to do that. Also, it’s convenient to the Flybus stop.
The tour guide was very helpful with getting phone settings prepared to take pictures and was exceptional with identifying aurora and where to focus on taking pictures. A wonderful experience!
Thank you so much, I am so pleased you got to see it :)
If the weather saying snow and cloudy 4 hours before your trip starts.. cancel it.get your money back...if it don't happen you get nothing
I´m sorry we didn´t get to show you the Northern Lights, when that happens we give you 3years of free tours - to come as many times as you need to until you see the lights. The weather here is famously changeable, it can go from snow to sun in 4minutes, let alone 4 hours. There have been many nights we have left the harbour in snow and then the winds high up have blown the clouds away half an hour later! Conversely people have been annoyed we have cancelled tours when we had great weather during the day, only for us to be proved correct and a blizzard blowing in later that evening. We use both our years of experience and the weather forecasts here to make an educated guess on the sky conditions but we can´t always be right. Seeing the Northern lights often comes down to luck, we need clear areas of sky and also for the lights to be strong enough to be seen by the naked eye. They, like the weather, come from mother nature and our outside our control. We hope you get to come and try again one day.
It's was okay. A lovely boat and friendly staff however near the city where there was a lot of light. We have had other northern lights tours which were much better because the guides chase the clear sky.
Thanks for taking the time to review us and thanks for saying nice things about our boat and crew :) We go to an area far enough away from the city that the lights don´t really affect our ability to see the northern lights, we´ve so many amazing photos to prove it. Like you said buses can go further in the same time, but waiting for the northern lights is a long, cold process. We prefer being on a yacht with heating, bathrooms, a bar, and doing a boat trip is always fun anyway. We like to wait in a nice environment until we call everyone out to see the lights. On buses you are just on a bus, then you are standing in a cold carpark. It really depends on how people want to spend their evening as a whole. But it sounds like you got to see the lights on both tours so I´m thrilled for you :)
Great Experience! Started with dinner at Old Harbor. It was snowing like crazy when we left the dock. The woman leading the trip, told us not to be concerned. The weather changes by the minute. Well it did. It cleared around 10pm and we got a beautiful show.
Oh how wonderful, I am so pleased you got to see them. Forecasting weather is really tricky here, as it changes so quickly, and especially when it´s snowing it can feel like we are going out on a fools errand, but so often the strong winds high up open up the sky for us like this. Thank you for this wnderful review :)
Boat was great! Bar full. We had lots of snow and sleet - no northern lights. Did see a couple whales, which was cool. Kiddos still had fun. Was a little adventure. Hope to see northern lights another time.
This was an amazing tour! The staff was so kind & informative, and the views were spectacular! I highly recommend.
We were able to 'see' the Northern Lights after we had taken a picture of them. The crew was very helpful letting us know what camera settings to use as well as when the lights would be visible.
Not serious company They show on tripadvisor tours with a boat the harpa, very fashion then they say you that there are some engine problems and very close to departure they send you a mail... and you only have to acept.
Hi, I am very sorry you weren´t happy with our tour. The reason we had to change boats was because there was a fault on Harpa, and as a very serious company, safety is our top priority, so it´s important to get it fixed. We messaged you as soon as we knew we wouldn´t be using Harpa, giving you the option to get a refund if you didn´t want to change boats. Unfortunately as with any vehicle these things happen and we did the best we could going out on a custom made boat for our tours, very spacious and warm with bathrooms and a bar as the yacht Harpa does.
After the weather calling off this on our first day and the forecast being pretty iffy for the rest our stay, we weren't optimistic that we'd actually get to see the Northern Lights. However, the trip went ahead one evening and the guide said he thought we might be lucky. After an hour on the boat we started the think the vague hint of green might be as good as it was getting and the boat began to turn for home. Suddenly the boat stopped turning and we were told to go to the front and we had a great showing! Really appreciated the crew holding on for us to see the lights in their glory. Wrap up warm as it gets chilly (although it is warm inside the boat and there is a bar serving hot and cold drinks!). Another bucket list activity ticked off!
