What a wonderful experience it was to learn to make pierogis with Alicja. She took us to the market to get ingredients, helped us practice our Polish, which was admittedly very rough, told us the story of those who worked there, added special tastes to our meal, and then took us to her beautiful home to cook. Aside from being an amazing teacher who let us do the work, she and her kitchen supervisor Beirut were absolutely charming, fun to learn with, always professional, and very informative. Most of all we actually loved what we cooked. Highly recommend!
Making pierogis with Anna was a wonderful experience. Going to the market to select our fillings and then her sharing her home with us to make them. She is a pro at making them. She guided us step by step. They were delicious tasting. Anna was patient, informative, friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. I would highly recommend this company for all your travel and food needs.
Our guide and chef was Katarzyna Kozak who was delightful. She led us on the shopping expedition at the market helping us learn new words for the supplies. She opened her home to us and we cooked in her and got to experience life as a local. It was relaxed and we had a few laughs along the way.
My husband and I truly enjoyed the Pierogi Experience. We went with another couple as part of a Rick Steves tour. Our instructor was Alicja who met us at our hotel and we traveled to her home by tram and then Uber after stopping to pick up fresh ingredients. She was very warm and welcoming, and we enjoyed chatting as well as making the pierogies which were delicious. Really wonderful alsoto have a chance to see how people live in Poland outside of the tourist areas.
I had an amazing cooking class with Kasia, where she taught my group how to make homemade pierogi! But before that we went to a market where we ordered all the ingredients we needed to make our meal in polish. Kasia was very encouraging and helped us not be so intimidated. Afterwards, she welcomed us into her home where we got to learn how to make pierogi, eat other delicious polish foods and even play with her kitties! It was an absolute highlight of my trip and I can't thank kasia enough!
Hanna was an excellent guide. Warm and friendly and a great pierogi chef. We went to her apartment and she led us through the steps in making the dough. We had a chance to knead it and roll it out, Then we drank beer while we made the dumplings and stuffed them with potatoes and cheese. None of them fell apart while cooking and they tasted delicious. A five star afternoon.
What a wonderful experience! Learning how to make pierogis in Paula's home was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. Paula was patient, knowledgeable, and made every step of the cooking process easy to follow, sharing not only great techniques but also the traditions and stories behind the dish. Making the dough, preparing the fillings, and folding the pierogis by hand was both fun and rewarding. Best of all, enjoying the delicious meal we created together around the table made the experience feel truly authentic and personal. If you're looking for more than just a cooking class, this is a fantastic way to experience local culture, connect with a wonderful host, and leave with skills and memories you'll cherish. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves food, learning, and meaningful travel experiences!
This was a fun and informative tour. We started by going to a local outdoor market to purchase the ingredients including cheese, potatoes, fruit and also some pickles. We then traveled by street car and the guide's car to her apartment where she taught us how to make pierogis. Of course we then ate them - the blueberry were amazing. Anna was very friendly and enthusiastic. It was interesting to see where real Poles live and to see a slice of real life in modern Poland.
Our host and instructor, Dominika, was a pleasure to be with and patient with her students as we learn to shop for groceries in a Polish market and make authentic pirogis.
This was an experience everyone who visits Poland should do. Dominika met us at our hotel and took us to buy the ingredients at the local farmers market. At the market we had to use our limited Polish vocabulary to buy the ingredients. After that, we traveled to her home where the prepared our meal. We made potato filled pierogis and some fruit ones as well. Every step was along the way was filled with learning and laughter. And best of all we got to eat our creations. I highly recommend this experience.
