This is definitely a physical trip! Half of rhe ride there is on an F-road, so it's VERY bumpy & uncomfortable. We felt quite squished in the small van. The guide walked VERY fast on the uneven trail. It was a moderately challenging 4-mile hike through rough terrain. He did say we could do our own hike, but we didn't know where to really go so we followed along. A few people turned back. No real changing area for the hot spring. Also, guide didn't mention the food "bus" that you can order lunch from. Scenery is breathtaking, but this tour was not my favorite.
Great scenery , easy hike , perfect way to end the hike with a nice soak in the natural hot springs . In addition, on the way back to town we stop and see a few beautiful waterfalls . Great day , driver & guide !
Lorenzo was a great guide and the tour was absolutely stunning! The highlight of my week here in Iceland. The two hour hike was beautiful and then we had an hour back at the camp for the Hot Springs. I would’ve loved to stay longer, I know since it’s a day trip we had to drive back. But in total, they were about five stops, so it did not feel rushed all and we had time at each stop. The day went by super fast and it was so beautiful! at other tours, you only get out for 20 -40 minutes and look at the view. So it was nice to actually move and hike this tour!
Our guide, Klause, made this tour 10x better. He was always providing educational explanations throughout the whole tour. The weather was perfect for our group and Klause was able to take advantage of this weather opportunity. The stops on this tour checked all the boxes, photography dream!
Great guide with a lot of knowledge.
Tour company is excellent! I didn’t realize there were two hotels with the same name until I arrived and found I had chosen the wrong one for my pickup! I called them the night before my tour, and they were so calm and fixed it immediately. Then the tour itself was wonderful! Lorenzo did a great job, and the whole thing was well organized. I alsaw some of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen in my life. 10/10 would recommend!
Actually, it's nothing more than a shuttle bus to Landmannalaugar and the Valkey of Tears. The price is far too high for that. The driver drove rather rough and gave little explanation along the way. An extra step for the too high trip would be useful. At the Valley of Tears, there was only a limited number of minutes available to take it all in. The stops at two lakes didn't add much for me. Landmannalaugar and Valley of Tears was worth it, so I wouldn't have missed those two. We were advised to leave Hotel Selfoss. That's where we parked our car. Afterwards, that cost 6,000 ISK = € 43. We were not informed about this and were not happy about it.
Lorenzo was amazing, very knowledgeable and a great guide.
My partner and two friends ventured on this journey to Lannannalaugar and as other reviews state, it is a long day but entirely worth it. This trip provided scenery that restored my faith in humanity. Our guide, Sveni, was knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. We had a tire blow out on the way home and because the company had the proper tools in the van we were back on our way within 30minutes. I strongly encourage anyone visiting island to take this trip!!!
This was one of my most favorite adventures in Iceland. Michel was a wonderful guide, informative and friendly. We did a fairly easy 3 mile hike, the landscape changed so much during that short period. All absolutely beautiful. There was a natural hot spring option and so, when in Iceland… I would recommend a quick hot shower (more of a rinse really) afterwards for 1100kr. It was a long drive there and back; however, on the way back we made several stops to visit some of the most unique and beautiful waterfalls. Was a truly brilliant day!
