Excellent tour really. We were picked up at the hotel at 4:00am and returned in the afternoon. The guide Javier is excellent and his attention was first class. We were lucky enough to see an avalanche as we arrived. The arrival at the lagoon is wonderful, the view is amazing. When the tour starts it is cold and after sunrise you die of heat so I patch up wearing warm thermal garments and you can take them off without problem. Then in a backpack or in a bag they don't pack. From where the vehicles leave you to the lagoon is an ascent of about two and a half hours super demanded. Take into account the footwear, carry water and be prepared for enough physical effort to be able to travel on quite steep terrain. Horses are hired to make the crossing (just to climb) but I think the fun is to go on foot. When you are in the lagoon the landscape is majestic and except for the voices of the people who are there you do not hear anything. The lagoon is 4200 meters high so it is recommended that you do not take the tour in the first days of the trip to be able to acclimate before going. If you are in Cusco perfectly you can do some things before visiting that place. There is a stop halfway where for a sun stamp your passport with the legend "Humantay Lagoon", so I recommend to take it to have that memory.
