Awesome day trip from Quito in Daniel's comfortable, brand new car. He shared lots of interesting information about Ecuador all day and I loved seeing the colibris and mariposas (hummingbirds and butterflies). We had an excellent lunch; who knew cheese soup was so good? We explored the town too and I had the best tour at a local artesan chocolate company: we learnt and practised the entire process with A LOT of tasting! All in all, a perfect day. Highly recommended.

We did the Mindo Cloud Forest Tour with Daniel and Mufi Tours. Great guide with extensive knowledge of everywhere we visited. Daniel is more than a guide, he is part of the local community and seemed to know everyone wherever we went, helping us make the best choices and get the best deals. Daniel was personable, knowledgeable and very helpful in personalizing our tour to suit our specific needs. We visited the Butterly and hummingbird sanctuaries which were very interesting. Probably best of all was the chocolate tour... something that a perfunctory chocolate factory visits turned out to be very informative and fun because Daniel helped us make such excellent choices. I also didn't think about it at the time, but I really enjoyed the friendly, no-pressure atmosphere of his tours. We've done a lot of the tours in a lot of countries and so often the cultural stops are accompanied by high pressure sales situations. Not this time. We did of course have lots of opportunities to buy things but there never felt like a push to buy things. Instead I always felt that Daniel and the people he introduced us to had a genuine interest in sharing their culture and experience with us. We enjoyed are time with Daniel so much that we also asked him to do our airport transfers... the punctuality, reliability, and friendly service made is so worth it. Go with Daniel and Mufi Tours and you won't be disappointed!

My private tour with Daniel was outstanding. He shared info, answered questions, and had so much knowledge and history of Ecuador. We talked about so many topics and the while day was just so enjoyable and amazing! The chocolate tour was so interesting, I loved it. If I come back to Ecuador, I will look for him for sure.

This was the perfect day out. Daniel’s safe driving, deep knowledge of the area and culture, and excellent English meant that we had a tour tailored to meet our needs and exceed our expectations. From feeling butterflies and hummingbirds to feeding ourselves chocolate and visiting the Equator, we had an amazing experience that we will never forget.

Daniel took us to some very cool places like the night walk and hummingbird observing center. We are vegetarian and he worked really hard to find great places for us to eat, etc. We loved him and highly recommend him.

Brilliant day. We liaised with Daniel about what we wanted to do in Quito and the Mindo area. He made a number of suggestions and gave us some very practical advice based on his good experience of guiding in the area and we agreed a brilliant day...humming birds, butterflies, orchids, chocolate factory (we weren't that keen on this initially having been on visits elsewhere but his choice was excellent- educational, lots of samples and then a really tasty chicken and chocolate lunch!). We finished off the day visiting the equator museum and monument on the way back to Quito. Daniel is able to put across information in an enthusiastic and often humorous way. He genuinely wants you to enjoy your trip with him in a way you don't often experience with local guides and he will go out of his way to give you the best experience he can. We are lucky enough to be pretty widely travelled and would throughly recommend Daneil and his MuFi travels to anyone visiting the Quito area

Butterflies, hummingbirds and a Chocolate tour. No words. Such a great experience interacting with nature. The Chocolate tour was interesting and the chocolate was very tasty. I bought multiple bags of chocolate to bring home.

I would highly recommend taking Daniel’s cloud forest tour. I was traveling with two friends and Daniel was very informative, as well as careful to give us enough time in each place to enjoy. The hummingbirds were a life memory. The rest of the trip was fascinating as well. Don’t miss this one!

If you are deciding on a tour option and guide in Ecuador, pick this one with Daniel! My husband and I traveled to Ecuador with another couple a few weeks ago and we chose this tour and had a fantastic day. Daniel is a wealth of knowledge and we learned so much while seeing Mindo Cloud Forest, the butterfly farm, Mindo Chocolate for a tour and tasting and Mitad del Mundo (the authentic one) and every stop was great! Daniel catered to what we wanted to do and managed to get us back on time to get to Mitad del Mundo before they closed at 5 (and stop for empanadas on the way home). I felt like we made a friend and would recommend Daniel for any tour in the beautiful country of Ecuador!

Daniel was very knowledgeable about Ecuadorian biodiversity, and he was always so personable. He made my experience more about the animals as I am an animal person through and through. He taught me so much about the massive amounts of plants and animals, I also taught him a thing or two about ours. But please don't miss out on this, his tours are amazing. Will definitely go with him again on a future trip.
